On the babies talking topic. I would think that they’d train their little unruly infant mouths to speak first & foremost, then work on getting their tiny muscles to obey them. So if it typically takes a baby about 2/2.5 years to really start talking, these Hive babies would be speaking within 6-9 months. And if they usually start toddling around from age 1-up, then Hive babies may be walking within 6-9 months as well. It’s fun to speculate on! 💙

I don’t think it was completely wrong though, maybe some type of visual foreshadowing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Watching this again after the finale . . . it hits way different to me.

I don't know about the other characters, but they did talk on the official podcast about the fact that Manousos is meant to be a Colombian who is living in Paraguay. The actor talked about how when he first heard they were from Paraguay, he was worried as he didn't think he could do that accent. They told him that his character would also be Colombian though (and I guess they had some decorations/etc around his place of work that hinted towards that though I didn't notice them). You're definitely correct in general though that it has been a pretty common issue that fans have complained about in Gilligan's other shows.

Belly Bump theory = WRONG. That's the fun of theorizing, though. The clarity of the show's picture is incredible!

Merry Christmas Mr Movie Man, travel safe and kindly

I’m sorry for dragging you into my tinfoil-hat theory about the accents 🤓. I thought it meant something because everything in the series is so intentional, but was a stretch on my part. I’ve read that one recurring criticism Spanish-speaking fans have of Vince Gilligan is that his Spanish-speaking characters often aren’t portrayed by true native speakers, or their Spanish doesn’t sound fully natural. That was a fairly common complaint in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. So it does seem like there has been some progress in terms of using more fluent or native speakers, but there are still a few kinks to work out in the accent department. For example, a Paraguayan character shouldn’t sound Colombian, and Indigenous characters shouldn’t default to a Mexican Spanish accent — even if the dialogue itself is correct 😋 I don’t care really, because I’m just happy that the actor playing Manusos is an unknown latin american actor hitting a big time and doing a good job. The bump comment was about it being a red herring, a visual clue. (correct, no more bump sightings) Lastly, the paint is called Bella Donna, do with that what you will 😋
