On Going Fulltime
Added 2019-11-13 13:27:58 +0000 UTCGood day all.
For the past few years I've been streaming and making YouTube videos hand-in-hand with working a full time job. This solution has, for the most part, worked out fine. I've been able to work at a job I love with Paradox, while enjoying streaming on the evenings and weekends.
Over the past year however, I've found this duality conflicting. As my role at Paradox has demanded greater and greater time and energy from me (which, let's be clear here, I've loved) it has taken a toll on the amount of time and energy I have left for streaming. This has resulted in too many compromises with my streaming duration, lack of elbow room for scheduling and a severe lack of free time to simply relax.
So I sat down and scrutinized my job and my streaming, weighing up the pros and cons of both. There is great security in having regular employment, I love my job and I work with awesome people, but the time and energy demands are high. Streaming is greatly enjoyable and feeds me energy at the expense of being considerably less secure.
Well in the end I decided that going full time in streaming and content creation was the far more exciting and enticing choice: I get to set me hours, work from anywhere with good internet and be my own boss To that end, I have, effective today terminated my employment and entered the murky waters of being a full time streamer.
I will, over the next week, be putting together a proper, reliable streaming schedule, including time for Grand Strategy, as well as other channel staples: citybuilding, DDR, challenges and punishments.
All this would not have been possible without you (yes, you reading this right now!) generously supporting this channel. I extend my warmest thanks for that, and will continue to produce more of what has made this channel what it is today.
Thank you!
