It is indeed Maginot pronounced with the soft g. It’s a WW2 reference, it was a line of fortifications and obstacles France put in place to stop the German advance and force them round through Belgium. It’s worth a read about it and its purpose.

2025-09-22 19:40:09 +0000 UTCHonestly, I’m at the point where I almost hope the aliens wipe everyone out except for Wendy and Smee. And I kind of want the Eye to take over the world. Most of these characters are written so poorly that it makes me wonder if it’s intentional, like we’re supposed to root for their downfall. (Probably not, though. And I do love Jonathan Ajayi's childlike acting) No spoilers, but the next episode frustrated me for so many reasons. I just don’t feel connected to most of the characters their actions often contradict themselves or come across as completely counterintuitive. By the way, this is actually the first Alien Earth reaction I’ve watched; I usually stick to your other series. But I really dig the atmosphere you set with your background for this show. I still think it has potential to redeem itself, hopefully in the finale. What I’m missing most is the mystique of the Xenos..the horror comes from what you don’t see, and here they’re just a little too visible. And those names: Tootles, Smee, Wendy, etc. straight out of Peter Pan. When you said “Toot-Less,” I nearly spit out my coffee laughing. (If you haven’t seen it already, check out the movie Hook it’s a really fun reimagining and sequel of sorts, with Robin Williams.) What IS Kersh's angle? Good luck figuring it out. Lol.
