Dark - Ep.3X8 "The Paradise" UNCUT & UNCENSORED

Ladies & Gentleman.... we have finally reached the end of our stay in Winden. My oh my, what a journey this has been. Overall this has been one of the most interesting, challenging, well-written and meticulously planned series that I've ever watched. (in all the best ways of course) Thank you all for joining me on this journey and helping sherpa my poor (often confused) self through this complex narrative. I've learned a lot and enjoyed this series exponentially more than I would've if I had simply watched it solo and without a timeline lol If you depart after watching this series, I completely understand and there will be no hard feelings. IF, however, you stick around for more reaction/analysis series, I greatly appreciate your support and will certainly do my best to keep providing you entertainment in return....

Vielen Dank fürs Zuschauen! Passen Sie auf sich auf, bis wir uns wiedersehen!

Per request, I do re-visit the timeline for a FINAL time after completion of the episode.

Like I said on YT, Dark is my favorite all time series and your cerebral reactions a great ride! For me, I wanted more details on how Claudia really figured it all out. Did she travel to the Origin world? I joined your Patreon today to watch the finale AND because your are starting my other all time favorite series Mr Robot! Thanks for the great commentary !

It's quite something when you reach the end of something like this, it's quite like finishing a really good book that you never want to end but it has to. I think the final scene really brings things into perspective. Those who should exist, exist, the rest who were a result of time travel in some way or another, don't. I love that Peter and Bernadette are together, they were clearly meant to be in every time and every world and nothing stopped them from crossing paths in each of them, but now they have their freedom to be what they always should have. Hannah's final monologue is just incredible; the end of everything felt right, because it was the real apocalypse for two worlds, but them ending was their relief from an existence of pain and strife for those resulting from it. A beautiful reaction, again, from you with this. You feel the story, the characters and the experience in it's entirety and your response to it makes spending the time here watching with you wholly worth it. I can't wait for the next series I pick up with you here, truly, because it's fantastic experiencing them through your perspective.

I joined Patreon for this show. Dark is one of my top 3 favorite shows. It's been a joy rewatching it alongside you. I'm glad you were able to immerse yourself in it (even though you had some trouble keeping it all straight sometimes). It's a really special show. I hate that Netflix pulled the plug on their follow-up project, 1899, so quickly. You'd think that with how well-regarded Dark is, they'd give it a second season. My favorite show is Mr. Robot and I've been waiting patiently for it, excited for the future here. 🙂

And we reach the end, finally. Thoroughly enjoyed this re-watch. A few thoughts ... in the original world, Bernd Doppler marries Claudia and is Regina's father, Peter marries Bernadette and finds true love, Woller marries Hannah (he had a crush on her for ever) and they have a child on the way, which can't be Jonas as Mikkel never existed, Regina finally lives, and it seems that her and Katharina (if that's still her name now) are still single. Interestingly, HG's son and daughter-in-law, Marek and Sonja, can be said to be the true incarnations of Jonas and Hannah. Sonja is an anagram of Jonas and the first few letters in MARek TAnnhaus's name almost spell MARThA. It's fascinating to realise that HG invented time travel to save his son's family and technically, after an infinite amount of time ... IT WORKED! Although, of course, he'll never realise it... Edit: Jonas's words to Marek also have two meanings: "The bridge is closed ... there was an accident." The Einstein-Rosen bridge is closed and the accident was HG Tannhaus triggering his machine. Such fantastic dialogue! Thanks MM for this series. Although there were times you made me shout at the screen in frustration, I do appreciate the complexity of the show and I think you did a great job analysing and unpacking the themes. I really enjoyed myself and I think I'll stick around!
