Dungeon World is one of those RPGs that has a different style than other games when it comes to prep. The first session is really a world-building session involving the character. But once that world is built, the eight steps can fit in just as well as any other RPG. You still need to know the characters, build a strong start, outline scenes, develop secrets and clues, understand the NPCs, monsters, and locations that might come up and drop in interesting treasure. That stuff is pretty universal once you get past the first worldbuilding session.

My players and I are looking for a more narrative driven system. After listening to your recent episode where you mentioned playing Dungeon World at a convention, I picked up a copy and we are really excited by what we have read so far. Given your recent experience, how would you adapt the 8 lazy steps to accommodate such a different style of game, or would you not change anything at all?
