Fantastic Lairs Kickstarter Underway!
The Kickstarter for Fantastic Lairs has begun and already we've crossed three stretch goals! We're well on our way to including twenty lairs in the main book and already have some other stretch goals in mind. It's going to be an awesome book. If you haven't yet backed it, you can back it right here.
The Kickstarter page includes a download for two free lairs and the virtual tabletop compatible maps. I hope you'll give it a look.
Notion, New Campaign Manager Software?
Here's a sneak preview for the patrons of Sly Flourish of something I've been looking at.
One of my friends and players had recommended Notion.so to me as a way to manage D&D campaign notes. This past week I started playing with it and I think it shows a lot of promise for keeping track of campaign information. The tool is free, supports many different clients on many different platforms, and exports all of its data to csv and markdown files so you aren't locked into the platform.
I found it most useful to use Notion as a sort of Zettelkasten system, storing unique bits of campaign information in a tagged card in a Notion database. Each card has tags, some text, and a picture. Cards can include locations, NPCs, characters, villains, items, and other such atomic campaign components. I've been using specific Notion pages to show filtered views of this database for pages such as characters, NPCs, villains, and locations. Another page contains the remaining steps from Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master such as the strong start, scenes, secrets and clues, monsters, and treasure. Here are some screenshots:

I've only been using the system for a week but it shows a lot of promise. I'll likely have a video in which I go over it and an article as well if it holds up well under the stress of real game prep and real use at the table.
