Ope! Answered my own question using your database search tool! Found it! https://github.com/mshea/useful_scripts/tree/main/Markdown%20to%20PDF

Chris Hahn

Are you still using Automator and some shell scripting to print out your session prep notes? I heard mention that I could find it on your Patreon but I'm having trouble locating it. I really dig the idea! Would love to use it to print out my Lazy Campaign Session Prep Notes!

Chris Hahn

Hi Jesse! You can use the lazy dm's workbook and the lazy dm's prep steps just fine. There are some generation procedures for ancient sites in the 'Jade Colossus' Publication by Monte Cook Games. Apart from the scifi weirdness standard fantasy tables work just fine, you can sprinkle 9th world weirdness generously on top afterwards. You might want to watch some of Mike's Numenera session prep videos. He did it likewise. In the end the lazy gm steps are about story archs and situations.

C. Kellermann

Thanks so much :)

Jesse Reisman

The Lazy DMs Companion can work but the tables in Numenera itself are also really useful.

Michael Shea

Ahh! Great point. Thank you :)

Jesse Reisman

I'm using obsidian with no templates at all, simple formatting and bullet points, occasional inserted picture. That works wonders for me but might not work at all for others.

Gustavo Campanelli

Numerera is a weird combination of fantasy and sci -fi. I'd suggest you get some tables and change some of the entries as needed, because no generic table is going to cover all your bases.

Gustavo Campanelli

I'm looking at starting a Numenera campaign and came across your podcast (of course I already know who you are - Every geek does :)). Which of your books would be the best bet for things like creating a homebrew campaign and do they have applicable random tables?

Jesse Reisman

I'm reviewing your "The Gloaming" sessions atm. Plan to download your Notion and 1-page template as well. Just getting started for my 1st ShadowDark RPG session.

TheNoviceDM

I'm switching to Obsidian and still working on templates but here's what I have so far: https://github.com/mshea/lazy_gm_tools/tree/main/Obsidian%20Lazy%20DM%20Campaign%20Template

Michael Shea

Mike, Did you settle on using Obsidian for your newest games? If so, are you going to post your template builds similar to the Notion options that you have? I'm just starting to review those tools and appreciating your support and video instructions.

TheNoviceDM

Yes! https://slyflourish.com/lazy_gm_resource_document.html https://slyflourish.com/lazy_5e_monster_building_resource_document.html https://slyflourish.com/random_generators/sf-random-generator.html https://github.com/mshea/lazy_gm_tools/blob/main/lazy_gm_generator_perchance_input.txt

Michael Shea

Mike, do your rollable tables from the Lazy DMs Companion exist anywhere online?

Michael Cremin

Welmet. I've been an avid supported (purchaser) of your content for years. Finally joined the Patreon club (you're my first sub) in order to enjoy more content/access. Looking foward to learning "NOTION" from you as I take my "Forever DM" role to higher and more efficient levels. Enjoy your U-tube channel and am looking forward to seeing the other offerings that this patreon provides. Much Appreciated!

TheNoviceDM

Hello Mike, thank you for all the amazing content! How exactly do I link the monster database to my Lazy GM notion? What's a good workflow for running a campaign? Greetings from Germany

Ice Cold Enema

Hey, I just joined the patreon and have started watching the Rime of the frostmaiden stuff as I am getting ready to run it. Love it so far!

Skip Morton

Maybe the Lazy DM's Companion or Forge of Foes?

Michael Shea

You had a table for monster hordes successes or failures. Which of your awesome supplements or books did I see that?

Brian O'Farrell

Hi, I just joined this patreon. Been listening to your podcasts for a while and got some of your released stuff. All are very good!

Christoffer Backa

I just wanted to drop a line to say those patrons who haven't picked up Uncovered Secrets Volume 2 should get on it. There is some great material in there.

Luke Baumstark

Currently running Empire Of The Ghouls, my second campaign I have run after Rise Of Tiamat. Must say, not sure I would want to run it without the Notion notes you have already produced, it has saved me a ton of work and gave me time to create and source lots of side adventures and make it my own. Thank you soo much.

David Clelland

Hey Mike, I’m new here. I love your content. Thanks for giving so much to the community.

Richard Aronson

After running my first complete campaign using lazy steps before every session and having great results making use of tips from your books, blogs and videos, I finally joined your patreon, and the content is amazing!

Kaique de Oliveira

Great suggestion. I'm in the same boat. Mike, thanks for incorporating.

Charles Sowders III

Thank you!

Michael Shea

They're all in the notes in the video or podcast.

Michael Shea

Welcome back and thank you!

Michael Shea

Thank you so much!

Michael Shea

Wow, Mike, you are like a machine! You are the gold standard in Patreons. I so appreciate all the useful tools and advice you provide and constant updates and additions for improving my game. You are passionate and driven. AND, I thank you wholeheartedly for keeping your language clean in your videos and writing. Super!

Bree

Wow, finally. I've been fighting with my credit card for months, they say I'm using the incorrect due date but it's the correct one. Finally was able to use that same card via Paypal. So, I'm back.

Gustavo Campanelli

Available in vertical format now

E Van C

Hi Mike, thank you for all the value you add to the community :) Q: do you share the notes you use on the talkshow videos? there ia lot of good info in those :)

Renato Garbelini Cóvos

You are the first person (company?) that I have supported on Patreon. The podcasts are great. I'm psyched to be on board.

Luke Baumstark

Hi Rorary! It’s up on the Notion notebook link up above. Here it is just to save you the look: https://slyflourish.notion.site/Sly-Flourish-D-D-and-RPG-Campaign-Notion-Notebooks-d55e30c357b2422ab26290a563d8769c?pvs=4

Michael Shea

Hi Mike, can you link, let us borrow, your The Gloaming Notion Campaign Session Notebook/Template. The D&D one you linked on other media requires a lot of changes for Shadowdark. Oh, please:)

Rorary Prisock

I’ll see what I can do about the DM screen

E Van C

I just came here to ask the same that Matt asked. Would love to see an option for the dm screen in portrait. Thanks Mike for all you do for ttrpgs.

Dan Green

Is there an option for the dm screen pages to be vertical? My wife recently bought me a killer custom screen but it is designed 11 by 8.5.

Matt Coyle

Thanks!

Eric Mills

I'll start doing so! Some stuff, like the random generator, gets updated so frequently and its updated the minute you click it anyway but the PDFs I can put an updated date on from now on. Yes!

Michael Shea

Mike, since you have so many things available for Patrons, it's difficult to keep track of whether I downloaded the most recent thing. Would you be able to add a change log or version dates to the pinned post?

Eric Mills

Thank you.

bob

Thanks, Mike. That link was helpful, and I got it sorted. For anyone else who has the same question, I found the RSS feed URL using my computer's web browser on the Sly Flourish "Membership" page under the "Quick Links" heading.

Lawrence Holbrook

Hi Lawrence! You can find instructions for finding your personal Sly Flourish Patreon Podcast RSS link here: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/212055866-Subscribe-to-your-Audio-RSS-link-on-the-Patreon-app It offers a few ways you might find the RSS feed and include it in your podcast app of choice. If you're still having trouble, folks over on the Sly Flourish Discord server may offer some suggestions. I can only test it once myself (because I too have a private feed) so I can't really test and replicate your particular situation. Hope that helps!

Michael Shea

Hey, Mike. I just upped my Patreon membership level to access the "Readings and Reflections with Sly Flourish" content. I'm stoked! Upon doing so, I received an email explaining the benefits of this new membership tier. One of them is this feature: "Listen your way: Connect to a private RSS feed so you can listen to Sly Flourish on your favorite podcast player from your phone or computer." Unfortunately, the link in the email takes me to a page of (what looks like to my non-programmer eyes) computer code, and I can't find a mention of a private RSS feed in the Patreon rewards info page. Is there a private feed for the readings? If so, where can I find it, please. If not, it would be a great benefit. I like to download and listen in Google Podcasts instead of via the Patreon app. Thanks, Lawrence

Lawrence Holbrook

Thank you so much!

Michael Shea

Hey Mike. Just wanted to let you know I just became a paid patron, because what you put out there simply has made my game infinitely better. Your Lazy DM books have been instrumental in how I prep and play. On top of that, your weekly talkshow does a fantastic job navigating the ever expanding content universe that is 5e. Thank you so much for all of it!

Jason

ok went into the link and opened up my linked account, there was a place to join there. don't remember leaving the server, must have mis clicked!

Richard Fraser

Gotcha. I don't think that link is needed anymore. I think that once you connect Discord and Patreon, you should automatically be connected to the Discord server.

Michael Shea

sorry, i mean the link to your discord above says invalid. It probably expired and you need to make a new one.

Richard Fraser

Hi Richard! This link has the instructions for connecting Patreon and Discord. It may require logging out and into one or both platforms to work. Sorry for the trouble! https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/212052266-Getting-Discord-access

Michael Shea

discord server invite is invalid

Richard Fraser

Hey Mike. Any advice on running a more narrative focus battle? In my recent game my players just fought a mad king, his dragonlord knights and dragons, inside a floating fortress which he stole from them, while the city was under invasion from the main bbeg. Although the stakes were high and understood. Once initative is rolled, this battle could have been any other random group of statblocks and felt similar. How can I have cool transition moments in a fight, without dishing out awkward one liners? Or should I not worry so much as long as the story flows in the beginning and the end? Thanks!

Cody Forsyth

6 days left. Still $6K away from getting Monsterous funded.

Greg Jones

Awesome! We plan to release the CC version of that table before the end of the year.

Michael Shea

Just a bit of feedback - I am using the heck out of the "Monster Statistics by Challenge Rating" table near the beginning of Forge of Foes. I want to print it out and frame it. Absolutely love it. (I know you've done similar tables for monster building previously but I absolutely love this one. Kudos to you and the rest of the team who worked on that book.)

Craig Liliefisher

I also think you should talk about Monsterous again. It looks like it might not make its funding goals and it would be great to try to kick it past the goal line!

Greg Jones

Just picked up Forge of Foes. Honestly didn't even realize it was out because I kept checking the sly flourish book store. I would definitely suggest emphasizing where to get it since I've been "waiting" on it for a while! Looking forward to brewing some creatures for my way over leveled spelljammer campaign.

Greg Jones

Awesome! I'm so glad you like them!

Michael Shea

Just wanted to let you know I used the Dwarven Forge VTT Isometric locations. They are super fun to use! I especially love that you took all the photos from a 3/4 isometric viewpoint. That makes it really come alive. Thanks for taking them! You rock

Bryan Aldeghi

I'm interested in this as well. Here's hoping!

George Andrus Saucier

Your Notion Notebooks are fantastic for better understanding your notion structure and especially for brainstorming. Any chance we can get the pre-notion notes from your Tomb of Annihilation days? I’m running the campaign now and just hearing your thoughts after yours finished and what you would change has been immensely helpful. So i can only imagine what the session logs would help with. If its too tough no worries.

Rusty

Hi, I am looking for an editable copy of those pre-generated level 1-5 characters. So many edits need to be made for race changes from Modenkainens and so many of them are half-elves and humans and I want to put in more variety. Any chance I can find that here?

Warren Rawlings

I just noticed your Notion notebooks. What??? This is an amazing resource man! I'm almost misting up...

Maatlock

Hello! I am getting back to DND after a long lay off from it. I started playing in 1979 or 1980 and played for about twenty years. Then life but have gotten back to it about six months ago. Amazed by the changes. I am trying to put together a campaign as a DM and love the theories you expound on the youtubes

David Dow

I'm at Stage 3 also. If ORC is really cool, or black flag becomes what they seem to be setting out to do, the hobby will split for some (or there'll just be lots of great options!) then yes. I hope a community based core becomes more and more the reality.

NØKKEN_WAITS

Yes it was, I rolled success on that one.

Mick langan

It was reviewed on the lazy d&d talkshow the same week you asked

Paul Mohler

Hello there, I have just seen the M.T Black Iskandar handbook for £2 on Drive Through RPG, any thoughts on this deal or product?

Mick langan

Hi Mike, A former boss of mine once told me that people go through three stages when they are facing a significant change: Stage 1 – Oh my God! (As in, “my world is falling apart!” Stage 2 – What’s in it for me? (Hm, what’s in these changes that I can use to my advantage?”) Stage 3 – Let’s talk (“I have adjusted to the new norm, let’s move forward.”) I don’t know about the rest of the D&D community, but I am at Stage 3. At this point, I would like to thank WotC. The changes and uncertainty of WotC’s OGL seemed to be the catalyst we needed to bring the rest of the community together. “The Time of the Orc has come.” Paizo has communicated about the ORC (Open RPG Content) License they will be producing, and putting into the control of a non-profit. Kobold Press has also so stated that their new core rules set will be based off of the ORC License. It feels like we are moving to a more community-based D&D system. My question is: Has Wizards lost control of what the gaming community will view as the TRUE core rules of modern D&D?

Graham Dyer

Hi Evelyn, I just downloaded and edited the template myself. I never locked it. I don't think others have had trouble with it either. Let me know if there's something else I can do or if I'm missing something.

Michael Shea

the word template is locked for editing, its very nice looking and concise so i would like to use it-- Don't know what happened, but thank you, I can open it now...likely a glitch on my end. evelyn

Evelyn Myree

google wizards of the coast ogl for a link from their site to a 400 page OGL 1.1

Ltbadger

A "last updated" date next to the PDFs linked in this post would be very helpful!

ArchiveDelver

great work and one which has fired a lot of ideas in my synapses. One small problem which triggered my OCD; there are quite a few misspelled words in the update. very minor and i am not trying to complain; if i can help out with this please let me know and i will get to work :)

Ken Sexe

jaw dropped when I saw this

Chris Hallberg

Just to give you a hard time Mike, You only need two or three fonts: one for the title (maybe subtitle) and one for the body. Anything more is a font crime. Otherwise, a most excellent product.

Mari

Glad to help and thank you for your support!

Michael Shea

Thank you! This template is what just pushed me over the line in deciding to sub. Love the swift reply.

Veronica Sipe

Hi Veronica! The template was indeed old and has fonts even *I* don't have installed anymore. I've switched them to the following: * Main header: Copperplate Gothic * Drop-cap: Lucida Blackletter * Main body: Cambria * Headers: Optima You can redownload it and see if it works now. I uploaded a new one.

Michael Shea

The header font in the word template isn't right for me--I'm getting a lot of Greek symbols. Can anyone tell me the name of the font when it shows up correctly?

Veronica Sipe

Thank you so much and welcome to this awesome hobby!!

Michael Shea

Hello, I'm new to D&D and Dming. I have found your youtube videos, podcasts and books so very helpful and entertaining. Thank you for all your hard work

MysticMuscle

Sly flourish is awesome

Theodore Muller

Oh wow! This is a lot of bennies for signing up. /hat-tip

Brenden Sparks

thank you so much

Clayton S

Hello! You can find the video here: RPG Map Designs – GM Tips Video 2 of 4 by Johnn Four and Mike Shea https://youtu.be/bj1wSPvJEU4

Michael Shea

I was looking for the 2nd video in your series with Johnny Four of 5 Room Dungeon Fame and I could not find it on your site. The post describing the video is here: https://www.roleplayingtips.com/lazy-gms/

Clayton S

Extremely excited to check this stuff out. I kind of peeped the Notion notebooks and i'm very interested. I'm a new DM and been using One Note but i really like the layout and style of Notion. I remember hearing about it in one of your podcasts or videos i cant remember if it costed or not. But Thank you for the content you create man! You've always been 1 of my go tos for dnd stuff.

ShadowTheTabaxi

This looks like great content! I'm excited for all the generators. I've read Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master several times, it's been a lifesaver for my games. I'm excited to see what I can do with this content. Also, I've really been enjoying your Numenera prep, It's helping me learn how to prep a home-brew campaign better, and I think my players have noticed.

Nash Stewart

Howdy! It was buried in my Witchlight Notion page. Sorry. Here's the link: https://slyflourish_content.s3.amazonaws.com/witchlight_one_page_campaign_guide.pdf

Michael Shea

Oops! Yep! Fixed!

Michael Shea

On page 9 of Rats in the Cellar, the bracers of armor are supposed to be bracers of defense, right?

Nisho

Hi! I came here from the wild beyond the witch light video and subscribed hoping to find the “Wbtwl One-Pager” you said would be found on patreon. But I’m having a heck of a time actually finding it…

Davylyn Holly

I must say I'm impressed by the content that's here, I came here thinking of simply supporting your shows (no ads !!!), your content, but nicely surprised by all the content !

Bastien Leblanc

Wow, I just have to say, this has to be THE most generous Patreon I've signed up for in quite a while. Thank you so much for all the content! I'm especially excited to take a look through your notion notes. I love the idea of using Notion to organize campaigns, but I've always struggled with coming up with how to put it together. Seeing how you utilize it for your own games seems like a great place to get some ideas!

Casey

Just jumping in to say you also got me using Notion for D&D. Your general adventure template was incredibly helpful. Thanks Mike!

Andy Roark

Aha! Yeah, I've toyed with the idea of writing an adventure in Notion that you could export into an HTML bundle and run locally (or in Notion on a phone). I may have to try it someday.

Michael Shea

Ah, sorry! Your created content migrated into a Notion template to link and reference to.

Shane Zuspan

Hi Shane! I’m not quite sure what you have in mind. The format of the adventures in Ruins of the Grendleroot are probably my best take at a common adventure style for published adventures.

Michael Shea

Thank you so much for sharing your Notion templates! Will we ever see Lazy DM Guide content or Adventures in this format? Like a LDM Compendium or something? Thanks again!

Shane Zuspan

Awesome!

Michael Shea

While I've been a long time fan of your stuff, Mike. City of Arches has turned me into a Patreon. I am already wondering where to put it in my game world - which shows something. Not sure what but I will consult my therapist at some point.

Andrew Glenn

So glad you dig it!

Michael Shea

It’s hard to express how happy I am with this. I’ve got a now year long campaign going with my son and we’ve had the one major city in our campaign continent unexplored because I Couldn’t figure out what I wanted there. Our world is one adventuring in the remnants of a lost civilization. The city of Arches is the mysterious city I’ve been longing for!!!! Thank you!

Alex Gombach

Thank you! I tried to organize my stuff in a Zettelkasten way But it didn’t really work so now I just have a big pile of notes and that seems to work well enough

Michael Shea

Found your video on using Notion and your Notebooks yesterday, after having bought your book some years ago. That's a really interesting structure to build upon. I also saw you're using some kind of Zettelkasten system notetaking as well. If you're doing that in a ttrpg context, I'd be *really* interested to see how that works for you.

Dedalus Root

Much appreciated!

Mark (zellspell)

Howdy! I just added Blades in the Dark and Wild Beyond the Witchlight to the list!

Michael Shea

Really appreciate these templates for managing campaigns via Notion.so. Will you be adding a share link for WBtW? I saw your prep video and you mentioned it would be made available? Thanks again!

Mark (zellspell)

So glad you dig them!

Michael Shea

Thanks for these! I've been following you for years and your work is phenomenal. Glad to be here.

Isabella C

Welcome!

Michael Shea

I am here! Looks amazing!

Steve LaRocque

Welcome and thank you!

Michael Shea

I'm late to the party, I just picked up Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master (through Audible, than as a physical copy) and loved it so much, I started watching your YouTube channel, and now I'm here! All in the span of a few weeks. Just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome stuff. Thanks to you, I am starting a new campaign in a completely homebrewed world, something I haven't done in over 10 years. I'm super excited!

Chris Blanchard

Awesome. Thank you so much, Mike!

Steve Howes

Thank you so much!

Michael Shea

Because of the way I put them together it is really hard for me to add page numbers. Each page its its own word document so I'd have to add each page number manually. Sorry!

Michael Shea

Hi Steve! I added them back! You can find them here: https://slyflourish.notion.site/Sly-Flourish-D-D-Campaign-Notion-Notebooks-d55e30c357b2422ab26290a563d8769c

Michael Shea

Hi Mike! The links to your awesome Notion template and campaign notebooks seem to have vanished. Can you bring them back, or are you parting ways with Notion? Thanks!

Steve Howes

Thanks Mike! This material is just awesome:) Is it easy for you to put page numbers on the Uncovered Secrets volumes? If possible, those would be helpful.

Matt Roy

Not wrong at all! =D

Michael Shea

Is it wrong for me to double dip? I learned about you on the Kickstarter, pledged and also joined you Patreon. Good stuff Mike, thanks!

Stuart

Hey! It's your pal Mike! Here you go! https://slyflourish.com/revised_5e_cheat_sheet.html

Michael Shea

Hail to my pal, Mike! :) Mike, a while ago i found an awesome summary for some stuffz on your page with some very useful info, like average HP/attack etc on a short and printable version. You mentioned you printed on some kind of old looking paper (and laminated?)...but i didn't find again. May i ask you, where is this document? Best regards: Gabe from Hungary

Gábor Hegedűs

Links don't work for me in the app on Android, but it works fine in any browser including on the phone

abazaba23 _

No problem!

Michael Shea

Im sorry you're totally right! I could have sworn it wasn't there after checking several times -_- my bad

abazaba23 _

Which adventure is that? Regnum Rattus is up there.

Michael Shea

Hey Mike! It looks like the pinned post is missing the new adventure about rats! Just a head up :)

abazaba23 _

Adventure generator needs lakes, streams, creeks, rivers, etc. Separate from an ocean and sea generator.

Richard Maddalon

The notion templates are awesome 👌

Richard Maddalon

I used the 5 secrets in my last game and 4 out of 5 panned out. Thanks!

I'm so happy to finally be officially supporting you here, after buying so many of your other products and enjoying your Twitch and YouTube channels. Great content and you've also created a nice community. I find the chat during your streams helpful and supportive and I'm happy to join them here now! Keep up the great work. Thanks!

Thank you so much and welcome back to the hobby! It's a great time to be playing D&D.

Hi, I purchased most of your products over time and enjoy reading your newsletters. Kudos. So, I decided it was time to sign up on Patreon. I'm an OFG (old fart gamer) whose roots go back to the first white box editions and 1970s Minneapolis. I got back into D&D with 5E and OSG. Thanks for being there with your ideas and thoughts! JP

These are awesome. Could you add a link to your Icewind Dale Notion notebook too? Thank you Mike!

Steve Howes

I tried via my phone, but didn't work. You were right - gotta use that PC!

Colin Eisele

I’m able to hit the link without trouble. I don’t know if you’re on an Android device or not but sometimes that causes problems with PDFs. Can you try it on a different device?

Michael Shea

It seems I cant download the adventure generator? The other pdfs work just fine, though.

Colin Eisele

Damn! I had just worked out what it should have been and was about to jump in as the hero and save the day... and you stole the glory! :-P. Thank you for more amazing adventures.
