JANUARY RELEASE 𐍈 13th century Teutonic Knights on foot with Winged Greathelms and Faussarts

Hi everyone, the January release is finally here, and it focuses on a highly requested unit: 13th century Teutonic Knights on foot with winged greathelms and two handed weapons.

Evidence of two handed weapons in use during the 13th century is scarce, since armor wasn't yet that advanced to justify not using shields, but my research into this topic led me to the faussart: the faussart  is a long-bladed, two-handed weapon, sometimes referred to as a warbrand  (by modern reproduction manufacturers). It is essentially an elongated  arming sword without crossguard.

Though scant when it comes to  both literary and iconographic references, the Faussart was possibly  used by both cavalry and infantry.  It is usually illustrated wielded by  cavalry, usually of the knightly class, indicating it as a high-end  weapon in contemporary sources. The weapon probably relates to the  agricultural tool for grass cutting, the scythe. The Maciejowski Bible  (Morgan Bible) depicts an example of a two-handed Faussart used by a  mounted knight.

So this month's release is comprised of:

• 12 Teutonic Knights on foot with winged greathelms and faussarts

Each knight has a greathelm that has slight variations, while still maintaining the main design of the flat top greathelm  that was in use during the 13th century. The weapons and bodies are a single piece since many people have trouble printing smaller parts, but in the future I might release them with empty hands if enough people are interested.
