Patreon activity and moving forward.

I have been thinking a lot about Patreon, and what to do with it. In particular, I was thinking on how to extend my content in a way that I can move part of that into Patreon, but I never found a good way of going about that.
Then it came to my mind, a good part of what I do is the SMP, and that's something I want to extend on. I have more plans for the server, and side projects that have to do with it.
So I thought, while I look for a way to extend my visual content into Patreon too, I could at least keep people updated on what I'm working on, and the things I have planned for the future.

Future of the SMP:
I have several ideas and side projects for the next season, and some of those things I'm already working on the side. I'm not fully dedicating to it, but I try to progress on it when ever I have the time, and lately that has had me occupied during the weekends when there was nothing to work on for Season 2.

I'm not ready to show anything yet because some of those are mostly plans, and figuring out how to do said plans, more than actually working on it. But I can mention a few of the changes from Season 2.

I do believe that Season 2 has a pretty good balance, sure it could be much better, but in general it's fairly well-balanced and thought through. That said, after looking at it over and over again, making the experience more balanced made little impact on the performance of the SMP. The attractiveness of the server came regardless of the balance. The retention of players came and went, regardless of how thoughtful the experience might be. In short, if the server is going to do the same, and other reasons are what makes this work or fail. Then, balancing it to this degree is a whole lot less attractive than it once felt.

What does that mean for the future of the server? Well, cannons will come back, rockets are likely to come back with a different recipe. Storage mods are still pretty unlikely, because they have several interactions that makes them broken, but a backpack mod might be a few pixels closer to being considered.

Did I regret removing all of that for Season 2? Not really, no. I know that Season 2 will be shorter than Season 3, so it became the perfect moment to analyse what differences that might bring. The goal was to make it more well-rounded, and balanced, which is exactly what I did. I'm very happy with the current modpack, but I will simply push it less in the future, seeing how it didn't make a difference where I wanted. Of course, I will still look for other ways to promote engagement, and retention, even tho that's an uphill battle, and in many cases, out of my hand.

That is the little update that I wanted to share with you all, and hopefully I will be able to show more features that will come for Season 3. For the time being, today we are going to have the last update of Season 2, which doesn't mean it's going to end any time soon. I'm just going to dedicate less time on the server side of things, and will take more time on making events and other stuff.

Thank you for supporting me in this journey, and I hope to keep having you all here with me.
