Use AI as support tool or not?

AI is a divisive technology these days. Today's release of Capture Adventure 13 - Cursed Desires uses this tool. This episode is a kind of pilot episode for using AI and you can see what the direction might be. The process is that I create the scene as I have done before, then run it through an image enhancement AI that brings the visuals closer to photorealistic.

Some people don't like this because they reject the use of AI technology. Others like the higher level of lifelikeness.

Before we move on, I would like to ask you all what your opinion is on the further use of AI technology?

AI painting can indeed save a lot of time. This way, creators can focus more on story design. However, existing AI has some flaws, such as hand deformities. Such flaws will ruin the reading experience. So it is necessary to avoid such flaws as much as possible.

AI tools are just starting to have an impact. You should become familiar with it now because it is going to be everywhere very soon. Learning to use it now means you are competing mostly with dabblers and you can stand out. Learning later, you will be competing against experienced pros.

and your extra work and effort is very evident and appreciated. It is that "tweaking" (as opposed to twerking ) that make your work so much better than anyone else.

I completely agree. I've already turned on the feature on Deviantart to not show the AI images for this reason. I still make the scene itself by hand and put practically the same thoughts into the AI prompt that I had in mind when I made the 3D scene. And I refine it until it implements the emphases that I wanted to communicate with the scene itself.

With the current technology, it is impossible to generate a consistent image sequence without a solid foundation underneath. AI hallucinations are still far from being controlled enough to generate images consistently using just prompts. Even with that foundation (CGI images), a lot of Photoshop work was needed to fix the mistakes in the final result. Anyway, I enjoyed it and would be happy to continue down this path if the majority votes for it.

As long as you use AI as a tool to improve your artistic skills and images i am ok with it but there are a lot of existing and new artists that are using it and have let it do all the work and the results are empty, flat, lifeless and soulless. I dropped supporting those people in fact I don't even consider them artists

AI can be a useful tool, but it can be intrusive in how style is implemented. Most AI generated pictures look similar and give the impression of being false or being mass produced.
