Just because its "what the community wants" doesn't mean it's not predictable. I think it's reasonable to talk about.

2023-08-17 08:06:28 +0000 UTCI messaged Salt about including a sort of pity system in the past for polls, and this was the response I got from him. "I've considered something like that before. I ended up deciding against it, however - In my experience, that kind of system tends to make people suggest the same character every poll until they win, and I'd like to foster a bit more variety." I personally think this logic of his is flawed, because there's a lot of re-suggestions on polls anyway. Not to mention recency bias is absurdly powerful in polls (Purah winning as quickly as she did is one example), so votes made by loyalty tend to lose still anyway.

2023-08-15 15:04:44 +0000 UTCSaw one Patreon where there was an option at higher tiers to "resurrect" votes from a previous poll (i.e., if a character had received 50 votes in the past, those could be added to the current poll if the character was requested again). That might be a nice feature to consider since I always feel bad when I see the same thing popping up over and over again but never succeeding -- it would also give people a reason to vote for things even if it's clear they won't win this time. Not to mention a nice incentive for the higher tiers.

But I don’t complain everyweek, but it’s a thing I’ve noticed the past year and it’s getting tiring, what’s the point of a poll of the results are almooost always the same? Things need to be considered, and if nothing is mentioned, nothing will ever change

Everyone here has their own preferences, and are allowed to vote for what they like, regardless if it's because of the size, or the character in question. Speaking from experience, there's been outcomes I wished were different for one reason or another, but the best thing to hope for whenever that happens is that maybe the next time will be better.
