Yes, that does make sense; thank you for expounding! I can definitely see that in the underlying joint structure, sternum, and where the ilium defines the back hip structure.

When it comes to muscles, not really. I always have a lot of references open, and from what I've noticed through practice is that the bone structure seems to play a much more important role in where the structure comes from than any musculature. The elbow is probably the best example of this. I hope you understand where I'm coming from!

Better-with-Salt

When building your shapes on top of the skeleton, do you expand the proportions of certain volumes? Does the muscular structure play as much an integral role in a foundation for the three-dimensional structure?

fat figures are hard, I usually try to find the skeleton underneath and then build the shapes on top. It's not easy though and I regularly change my approach depending on what I'm working on
