Tiny Mod: No Kitchen Bitchin - No "smells bad" broadcaster from "spoiled" appliances (or food)
Added 2023-12-11 20:34:08 +0000 UTCHave you ever put a shiny new teaset, electric kettle, or pressure cooker in your sims' home, only for your sims to suddenly have developed phantosmia a day after? Have your sims cleaned the house top to bottom but STILL can't stop making "ew stinky" idles?
Well, have I got an answer that will fill you with confusion and maybe rage: a select few of newer EA appliance tuning applies freshness tuning to the appliances themselves, which will decay over time even if your sims have never even used them! What's up with that?
I normally have had to gut the entire freshness state portion of the object tuning, but EA keeps making this same mistake OVER AND OVER it is simply too much of a hassle to keep doing.
And so, I have a cheat-y way of working around it: I gutted out the "smells bad" broadcaster out of the "freshness_spoiled" object state. Now, this will also have your sims no longer performing the idle with actually spoiled food, but at this point, it's reasonable to go little a scorched earth as a treat.

Hm, that's odd I'll take a look and see if EA changed anything I haven't seen any changes to my sims' pressure cookers but I'll take a peek

2024-09-23 20:03:08 +0000 UTCHi, I was enjoying this mod - until I placed a pizza oven. Suddenly my sims all had the "smells bad" moodlet again. It went away as soon as I put the pizza oven in a sim's inventory. What's different about the pizza oven that keeps the mod from working?
