Added 2022-04-18 19:19:59 +0000 UTCIf you have seen the latest news on paywalled creators releasing personal information, I want to let you know that my content will always be free and I will never collect personal information from anyone. That said, please make sure your personal information is secure using privacy settings for sites like Facebook, and/or using separate email addresses for important real life matters (it does wonders for organization too!) Remember that even though most decent people do not go out of their way to look for others' personal information, doxxers have an easy time now that we live in the age of social media, so we have to be extra careful.
This isn't really about the current happenings, but I also suggest putting 2-Factor Authentication on most if not all your accounts, whether they contain sensitive information or just keep your favorite music or pictures. If you have an Android phone, I suggest using the free Google Authenticator app, which will create new codes on a regular basis so no one can get into your account even if they know your password.
I've been well-versed in internet safety since the time when learning how to use floppy disks was part of computer lab curriculum :P
