You might be right about Zemphi's open Third Eye being a minor factor, but the majority of adult Tapa have open Third Eyes by mature adulthood. Zemphi's did open relatively early... she's a very bright and courageous young Tapa... but not miraculously so. With most Tapa having opened Third Eyes, Morli can't afford to just fire them for that... it would slim the talent pool too much... and if she hated it that much, they wouldn't have hired Zemphi to begin with. Morli is a practical Tapa, and not stupid in any conventional respect. It IS, however, likely that Lolopho's closed Third Eye was a not-insignificant factor in his rise to senior management. Morli doesn't openly hate on Awakened Tapa, but she does openly favor the Unawakened. I'm not entirely sure of why Morli wanted the experiment contaminated... it might have been that the results of that experiment would mess with her long-term plans, or that Zemphi was on the trail of something she didn't want discovered yet, or that Zemphi was connected to something or someone that Morli didn't trust, or whatnot. Morli's schemes are multi-layered and almost draconic in depth.

Aha, so it turns out that the concerns about Morli stated in the previous post are indeed true! I wonder if Zemphi having an open third eye had anything to do with Morli wanting her to be gone... It's also interesting that Lolopho's conscience catcing up to him caused his third eye to open.

He was happy about sugar fattening people up! The Tapa view obesity as a strong positive. Morli is so fat she can't even walk properly any more, and others frequently boast about it on her behalf. She is much too classy to brag about her own weight. It's true that the Impresario is supporting this long-standing Tapa view out of personal interest. A fat population is a high-consuming population, and a consumer population turns profits. Having people buy expensive things to stuff themselves with supports several industries and sub-industries and increases the general happiness of the Tapa population. Local health Wardens are advising non-Tapa to partake responsibly. Luxa, Chaka and Kaga bodies weren't built to handle blubber nearly as well as the Tapa chassis.

What a fascinating story. He was concerned about sugar fattening people up, if I understand? Could this be a way for the Impressario to control the population?
