Genta Wars Round 4: Fyrsa vs. Valsa - CLOSED

Our fourth contest of patron opinion comes in the form of a bout between the multimorphic Fyrsa and the cannibalistic Valsa.

Read more about the Fyrsa here.

I've learned some interesting lessons from both of these candidates; they both raise interesting questions. I'll be saddened when one is eliminated, but don't forget: the Draak-Kin-level patrons will redeem one of the eliminated species with their vote, and Dreaming Door may also have a personal pick from among the lost.

Do not forget to vote in the other elections, as they last only one week each! The deadline for the Round 1 voting is today, May 3.

Cast your votes in a timely fashion!

May the best phylum win!

Genta Wars Round 4: Fyrsa vs. Valsa - CLOSED

The Fyrsa seem like one of the most unique designs for a species I have seen in a long time. I definitely want to see something markedly less familiar than Earth-Beasts that we can speak to and get a touch of their civilization. Fascinating!

Purpl Dragn

Fyrsa. Caste-metamorphic marsh creatures are a daydream for me in terms of populating a world. As Jo Walton wrote in her book, Tooth and Claw 'what if Victorian gender-societal expectations were rooted in biology". Female dragons were secretaries, administrators, housekeepers, and cooks because they had limbs capable of that. Male dragons had similar limits, but I don't remember what they all were. And engaged after first touch was driven by biology as well. I forget eh rest. Fyrsa taking the appropriate form for the job required, being able to decide which role they take, and being something like an eel, a trilobyte, a cheela, and a flying creature all at once. They'd have to be less capable as individuals than a hive, or they 'd be unstoppable. Also, their marshy limits add a certain touch of nostalgia as well. The way they can re-arrange their eyes and limbs so that they're less simple to take by surprise than they look would make them a real challenge to be caught up in conflict with.
