POLL #1: Who Shall Brave the Stars?
Added 2023-08-07 03:54:12 +0000 UTCWhen Darktooth led the Kin to Newhome, most stayed behind out of love for their Great Mother Earth, hatred of the No-Tails, fear of Many-Times-Burned's wrath, or (usually) a combination of these.
However, one familiar face from Golden Treasure: The Great Green took up the call and braved the star-path. But who was it?
It is up to you, our patrons, to decide!
Choose which of the Kin from the first game will play a role in the second. We will honor your choice, and they will become part of the continuing story. Their fate may be glorious or horrible, but you will see them on Newhome!
(If the name of the Kin you want doesn't appear on the list, it's because there is an important reason they need to stay on Earth. Usually this is because they will play a role in a future game or expansion. Those not chosen may still be involved in future Golden Treasure projects, so if your favorite doesn't make it to Newhome, don't give up hope!)

I declare our first-ever poll closed! About 50 people voted, which is the solid majority of all Patrons. Thank you all so much for being willing to participate in sculpting the world! I only dared hope that you would care enough to lend me your opinions. I'm so grateful to have such a community here at the beginning.

2023-08-12 22:18:07 +0000 UTCI feel like Twist could have followed the main Draak throughout its journey, hiding in the trees behind our perspective or something like that; and when we leave Earth maybe Twist finds a way to hitch a ride and then pop up a bit later in the story. I feel like it wouldn't care one way or the other about the war, just seeing the flash of opportunity and taking it would be enough of a motive for a Draak-kin who has been so decisively in defeat, even if that defeat was in its youth. Maybe Rift would figure out a way to do the whole space-time travel thing by itself and have some fun esoteric dialogue or something. My view of Twist is kinda giving vibes related to The Copper/RuGaard from the Age Of Fire series but still! I think it would be neat!

2023-08-12 22:15:33 +0000 UTCI'm torn between Vantage or Rift. Maybe Bloom. Bloom would make sense since he is Quetzal and would tie into his Oneday he will return sort of vibe.

2023-08-12 22:07:43 +0000 UTCI had a hard time deciding based on the following merits: Bloom: CHICKEN. ON. HEAD. Vantage: Probably the most logical choice, given its openness to untraditional new ideas. I could see Vantage asking to join Darktooth rather than join MTB's questionable war. Tempest: Bit of a hard sell as to why Tempest would want to leave Earth. It is so protective of its land, Tempest strikes me as the type to willingly die defending it. Rift: Although I like Rift's aloof attitude, it's hard to logically imagine that any Onyx Kin would choose to defy MTB. Bard: Getting off of Earth would be a huge win for any nomad Draak, especially one not combat-inclined like Bard. It would definitely make sense. I think it's going to get few votes because of its small amount of screen time. Twist: If Twist did manage to survive and thrive, everyone loves an underdog story of someone with a disability still being able to do what anyone else can do. Plus, Darktooth can engage in more of that nepotism that we're supposed to believe he doesn't do. ;) Whisper: I like Whisper and loved its territory invasion scene, but I'm wondering what it brings to the table that Darktooth would accept bringing it, being a bit of a self-imposed outcast. Perhaps it had an attitude adjustment since we last met it. It's a potentially interesting choice.
