Thanks for the tip and wow! You've definitely seen a lot from the Czech culture! I can also recommend earlier work of Milos Forman before he emigrated to the US - Hoří má panenko and Lásky jedné plavovlásky are great!

2022-06-05 08:44:42 +0000 UTCWe don't really have many of those, at least not that I know. I remember Comeback was really popular, but I haven't seen it. When I was little, we loved Tele Tele. It was sort of a parody show of TV news etc. It is very dark and indecorous humour-so you're prepared :-D

2022-06-04 23:39:11 +0000 UTCMám ráda české filmy! There is a website called easterneuropeanmovies.com that has a lot of Czech and Slovak films with English subtitles which aren't easy to find. The Criterion Channel has many Czech films as well. My favorite director is Juraj Herz; I love how weird, dark, and funny his movies are. I also love Karel Zeman, Věra Chytilová, Jan Švankmajer, Juraj Jakubisko, František Vláčil, Jindřich Polák...I could go on and on!
