I really enjoyed redrawing the bat billboard comic last week and had this other comic in mind from the early months of beetle moses. In both comics I really pushed myself to take a simple concept and breathe new life and depth into the illustration, without losing that simplicity. A simplicity which will likely always be with me in some capacity since it’s just the way I like to draw my comics. But this gave me an opportunity to really take control of the line-work, composition, and color. Not to mention drawing some slightly more accurate depictions of the bottom feeder sea creatures for my biology freaks in my reader base.
