Huge Holy 62

62 - Now it's time to go to the B-rank dungeon

RAW

Before going to I Confederacy… No, before leaving W Country, it was finally time to head to the B-rank dungeon.
At least commoner adventurers are now at a level where they can go around C-rank dungeons.
When it comes to noble adventurers, some of them, including Randy, can do it.

Until today, everyone has been working hard on special training and devoting themselves to raising their levels, so their abilities are sufficient. The only thing that remains is their mentality.
The amount of monsters that appear in B-rank dungeons is almost the same compared to C-rank dungeons.
However, the strength of the monsters increases noticeably.
I've given them a thorough lecture on monster subjugation strategies at the night study session, and I've also made them go around C-rank dungeons as a preparation for that.

...But.
At this point, the kijins announced that they would also accompany us.
Rather than having misplaced kindness, they are probably more concerned about our abilities  because of the incident at the riverbank.
Somehow, the commoner adventurers feel that they’re being looked down upon, so they begin to feel dissatisfaction hidden in their heart.

However, I dealt with it calmly here.

“We’ll accept you to accompany us. It's true that the survival rate will be higher this way... We are also conquering a B-rank dungeon for the first time here. The strength of monsters differs greatly between C-rank and B-rank. It's not bad to have support.”

There are many adventurers who stumble on B ranks because they are used to C ranks.
I told them such facts, and when everyone was more or less satisfied, we headed for the earth-type B-rank dungeon.

A dozen or so commoner adventurers, including Port and Zem.
Christoph’s party... including Heinz, they have three noble adventurers this time. (Sedoor was disinherited, so he is not a noble.)
The kijins that accompany us all possess large melee weapons such as steel clubs and sword-like blades made from many layers of steel.
And finally, me and Midia.

It's surprisingly safe just by having kijins here.
For the time being, I'll entrust the rear to them so that they can open a path of retreat in case of an emergency.
As usual, Sedoor and Port would search for enemies and collect materials, and healers would search for enemies and recover the stamina of the vanguard.
The vanguard would be left to Midia and her team, while Randy and I, who are in charge of the rearguard, would support the vanguard and attack from a distance.
It was a basic formation among the basics, but with a renewed mindset to ensure that these are thoroughly implemented, we went on our way.

“Two o'clock, [Whirlwolf], 17! eight o'clock, [Kyumaira], 30! eleven o'clock, [Rainbow Slime], about 40 to 50! Here they come!”

Sedoor searched for enemies and shouted.

“Please throw the materials here! Zem-san and I will protect the materials!!”

Port secured the materials.
Randy, who handed over the large ore-type items to Sedoor, and carried weapons and minerals with electromagnetic force, unleashed flashy magic on the Rainbow Slime by deploying his wand flower and magic circles.

If I had to name it, it would be [Flame Tornado]... a dual-element magic that incorporated fire-element magic essence into the wind-magic Tornado.
It must be a trick that can only be done because Nanatrois is a special wand.

Wendy, Midia, and Christoph, who are in charge of melee, were dealing with medium-sized chimera-like monsters, [Kyumaira] and [Whirlwolf].
Midia handled each monster’s vital point with fluidity, but Wendy and the others couldn’t quite do it.

Early on, like Midia, they were able to evade Whirlwolf's one-pattern, large attack movements, and hit them with their own attacks repeatedly, while also dealing with the bite of the snake's tail from the surrounding [Kyumaira]. That thing is poisonous, so it’s extraordinarily dangerous.

However, they still start to run out of breath halfway through.
As for Midia, she has no problem, rather her movement is becoming agile as if she was regaining her usual sense.
From the tail of the additional [Kyumaira] that sprang up, she took the initiative and burned it using a [Flame Arrow] with increased power.

While the healer was recovering the vanguard's stamina with Heals, I dealt with [Kyumaira] and [Whirlwolf].
The [Whirlwolf] is useful for its fur and claws, and the [Kyumaira] for its poison and fangs, but I released a [Holy Ball] (power: medium) from Herkovara's wand flower to wipe them out, regardless of whether they were useful or not.

Everyone was concentrating on the strength of the monsters, so I shouted in their place.

“Don't stop searching for enemies! Leimbacher-sama, please take care of the [Etal Golems] coming from 4 o'clock! There are 13 of them!! I will take care of the [Rainbow Slimes] at 3 o'clock!”

I can hear Sedoor and Port's apologies, saying “I’m sorry!”, but now’s not the time for that.
Randy dealt with the [Etal Golems]... By hitting them with an attack that was incompatible with the element of the ore wrapped around it.
The ores on their exterior collapsed and their main body died.

I tried to wipe out the newly emerging [Rainbow Slime] with the muddy stream of Holy and Clean Water, [Holy Float].
However, Port was trying to collect the [Etal Golems]’s materials, so I shouted, “We don’t need materials right now! Go support the vanguards!!”

“Vanguard! [Whirlwolf] from twelve o'clock... 34!! If you can't handle them, I'll do it!”

“We, we’ll leave it to you.”

A shielder in the vanguard said.
Heinz and Midia were the only ones still maintaining the vanguard.
Christoph, gasping for breath, yelled out to Heinz, “Don't overdo it...!”, but Heinz, holding the hoe that had been enchanted with [Flame Arrow] to increase its speed, said.

“Farmers are only good for their stamina, you know...!”

Does Heinz intend to stay on the front lines for a long time after understanding the advantages of his Job?
But, endurance is really Farmers' strong point. Their decisive blow can only be magic. Because Farmers don't acquire offensive skills.
Well, it helps in a way. If he buys me some time, I can subjugate the monsters even though I'm still not used to close combat at light speed.
After wiping out the [Whirlwolf] that Heinz had been holding back with melee attack at light speed using [Holy Quick], I further searched for the enemy――...

Apparently. The wave of monsters seems to have subsided.
I put up a barrier around us with [Shield] and call out to everyone.

“The appearance of monsters has subsided. Let's take a break for now. Thank you, Hankstein-sama, for holding back the swarm of monsters.”

“...I was just doing my part.”

Yes, farmers take advantage of their endurance to keep fighting monsters, and wait for the other side to give up, that’s their gutsy strategy.
That’s why Heinz's strategy was not wrong at all.
I say to the vanguards.

“If the vanguard is about to collapse, either the shielders or Hankstein-sama’s endurance will hold the monsters back. In the meantime, I can cover you while you rotate, all of you who are tired, get the healers for recovery.”

At first, some people had been stepping back due to the strength of the B-rank monsters, but even they finally advanced, albeit gradually, and they were able to coordinate well with the party.
Sedoor and Port's search for enemies is no longer delayed.
The opportunities for me to go to support them have also decreased.

The kijins who accompanied us also seemed to accept us a little after seeing our cooperation.
We secured the materials, completed the investigation, and incurred no casualties.
The investigation of the B-rank dungeon was completed perfectly.

And this was actually the last dungeon I investigated in W Country.
