After a while... C-rank-dungeon-conquest-cum-earning-experience-points become part of my regular activity.
Let me explain those once again.
First, early in the morning I make breakfast, clean the guild lodging house, collect medicinal herbs and potions raw materials from the vegetable garden, and start the auto-manufacturing using them in my room.
After that――I conquer all C-rank dungeons throughout the day.
Currently, there are three C-rank dungeons in this country.
One of them is the wind-type dungeon in the valley area that has been activated before, and was dealt with by E Kingdom.
Another one is the dark-type dungeon in the mountain range area that Heinz suicidally attacked.
The last one is a fire-type dungeon located not far from the city.
9 am.
The first dungeon we head to is the dark-type dungeon.
The party members are me and Midia, and a fire-element male swordsman as well as an earth-element female healer, both of whom have accompanied me before.
Most of the time, I am in charge of the rear guard.
The healer is in charge of the rear and support.
Midia and the swordsman are the vanguard.
It's a so-called short-term decisive battle-type formation. We don't particularly collect any materials, just investigate and return.
The monsters here are of dark element so I have a monopoly on them, when the swordsman is tired and can't deal with them, I can rotate the vanguard while providing cover fire from my wand flower.* (T/N: just the previous chapter, he said ‘light’ isn’t that good against ‘darkness’, yet now he said the opposite.)
I have the healer focus only on frequent healing and searching for enemies in the surroundings.
We collect materials if it doesn’t get in the way, and finish the investigation.
It was just before noon when we finished.
If we go to the city from here, we can enjoy lunch at a good time.
The male swordsman could not hide his fatigue, saying “Man~... that went by so fast”, but his strangely exhilarated face was as if he had just finished a rollercoaster ride.
While the female healer was flattering me, saying, “It's all thanks to Josiah-san's prompt response.”
Midia asks as if she had just finished a light jog.
“Senpai. What’s next?”
“You have to give Heinz... Hankstein-sama some guidance, don’t you? He will also become a promising asset in the future. I'm counting on you.”
“...Muu. Got it.”
If it's a dungeon of that level, it would be easy for Midia to take ten or twenty of them.
We return to the guild and report the investigation.
After this, we take a rest in order to head to the next dungeon.
At first, the receptionist was astonished, saying “Are you serious?”, and now she ends up mysteriously worried about me, saying “Why don't you take a break...”
She went silent when I said, “What's wrong with earning achievements?”
After disbanding the party, I checked my status while eating a pseudo [meat pie] for lunch.
Thanks to the healer taking care of all the [Heals], I have almost exclusively used techniques that make use of the attack magic [Holy].
Combine that with physical attacks, and this translates into no MP being consumed at all.
The next dungeon to challenge is the fire-type one near the city.
The party consisted of Randy, a water-element female magician, Zem, an earth-element swordsman who had accompanied me before, and myself.
Zem and I are the vanguards.
Randy and the female magician are the rearguard.
This is also a short-term-type formation. In particular, taking a water-element magician along would, at first glance, easily make it her monopoly, but there is a downside in that water ruins fire-type materials.
I've said it before, but what I'm doing now is to earn experience points, and it was also to get the adventurers who belong to W Country guild get accustomed to C-rank dungeons.
This dungeon is smaller than the dark-type dungeon. So we were able to finish this place faster than there.
Even so, Zem and the female magician were breathing heavily, so I Heal-ed them and gave them some potions.
Randy is getting used to controlling magic essence, and while he is readying to support Zem and the female magician, he gathers materials using electromagnetic force.
Well, it's annoying to go home empty-handed, so I carried the materials to the guild using a box made of shields to the extent that it didn't get in the way.
In the midst of that, the female magician asks this question.
“Haa haa... isn't this a state of activation...?”
“No. The activation state would be five times this number.”
“Fiv-”
“When other C-rank dungeons were activated, the people of the E kingdom would deal with them… but their momentum is about as much as you can imagine.”
No one can deal with an activated dungeon if they cry at this level.
I guess they would depend on E Kingdom.
Randy, who suffered from Magic Overuse Sickness before but has not had a problem since, asks.
“Hey, old man. Can't you bring Sedoor with you yet? I heard he got the item box already.”
“Still no. He has to at least be able to defend himself at the C-rank dungeon difficulty level...”
“Eh. Isn’t it fine? If it’s just that. It’ll be easy with the old man around, even if Sedoa isn't used to it”
“Because that carelessness can be fatal.”
This isn't something that only happened in isekai.
If you leave it to one person and the workplace doesn't function properly when he's gone, there would be nothing you can do about it.
It is pointless if there is no one to take over the job.
...Well then.
Finally, the party formed just before 3pm as planned and we headed for the wind-type dungeon in the area of the valley.
The members are me, Christoph, Port, and Wendy. Including Midia, that’s five people.
The large number of people here is for earning money by collecting and delivering material.
In Wendy's case, the monsters that were skillfully dealt with would be soaked in a preservative solution made with my [Clean Water], and then transferred to the guild. The purpose is to pass it over to the monster cuisine laboratory.
Contrary to her purpose, Wendy is active in the vanguard, which is helpful in a way.
“Once again, we were able to secure a large amount of monster meat that can be prepared into food! This is also thanks to Port-kun and Josiah-san!! Thank you very much!”
“N, no. Wendy-san is also doing a great job...”
Port praised Wendy back while slightly pulling back.
Christoph seems to have gotten used to this place, and his frequency of heavy breathing has decreased.
But, he consults me.
“Since then, Heinz hasn’t talked to me much… His father——Count Hankstein, isn’t angry about the failure of the quest either, he says we don't need to deeply shoulder the responsibility.”
Even if you tell me that...
For now, I’ll check with Midia.
“How is Hankstein-sama doing? Midia.”
“He no longer has any waste in his attacks. You can let him practice in D-rank dungeons and then bring him to C-rank dungeons and it won’t be a problem.”
“...No, that’s not what I mean.”
I'm worried about other things, such as.
Why did Heinz do such a reckless thing? I had an idea why.
“I read in some book that the minimum standard for fire-element farmers was the ability to conquer a C-rank dungeon solo…”
Port hysterically shouts, “Eeeh!? Alone in that place!!?”
Well, usually it is reckless.
But the reality is that if you don't have that level of capability, you won't be able to survive in a fire-element farmer's workplace.
Maybe, just maybe, it means he was worried about the future...
“He may still be wondering whether he should pursue a future as a farmer.”
“Fumu, I see... Thank you. I think I'll try to talk to Heinz again.”
This completes the conquest of all C-rank dungeons within W Country.
Including lunch time, that's about 10 hours. I'm not aiming to break the timer record, so that's fine.
The receptionist says, “Welcome back,” with a fed up feeling.
“Josiah-san. As expected, investigating all C-rank dungeons... and even doing it every day recently, is crazy!”
“No, no. If we don't do it now, we won't be able to investigate C-rank dungeons for a while. That's why I'm so enthusiastic about it.”
“For a while? you won't be able to?”
“Didn’t you say that the kijin race’s――elite adventurers will go around the C-rank dungeons?”
“Ah... that's right. So that's why... but please keep it in moderation, okay?”
Right.
The C-rank dungeon would be handed over to the kijin adventurers.
Putting aside the B-rank dungeon, now is the time to go around the C-rank dungeons.
...Also, the kijins are a bunch of heavy drinkers. It's going to be rough (in terms of property damage) in the guild in a lot of ways. Well, in a way, it'll also become a place for me to gain experience points.
