Chapter 78: Scattered Bloom!

On the rooftop of the Law Enforcement Agency building, Damon's body had already turned to stone, using his hulking physique as a shield to silently withstand the barrage of bullets coming from all directions.

The rain of bullets pounded against him, shattering the stone fragments.

"Damon, hold on for two more seconds."

Rose was crouched behind him, silently gathering a large amount of steam.

The situation at the Heresy Tribunal was very tense - their direct superior was under investigation, and without orders, they couldn't act against their former colleagues, as that would only escalate the situation and potentially solidify the accusation of colluding with the Necro Cult.

If they attacked the acting superior, the charges would be even more severe.

So they could only try to release a burst of high-temperature steam in an attempt to drive the crowd back.

However, the acting Grand Adjudicator Bob seemed to have anticipated their plan, sneering, "Last chance, surrender immediately or face the consequences."

With that, he stepped forward, his body suddenly glowing with intense heat.

He unleashed a scorching shockwave with a punch!

Steam!

This guy's innate ability was also the power of steam!

In Damon's astonished gaze, the high-temperature steam erupted, blowing him away.

Seeing this, Rose could no longer hold back and released all her steam at once!

A thunderous roar echoed as the two streams of steam clashed.

In a clash between evolutions of the same attribute, it often came down to who had more life energy, or who had a deeper understanding of their innate ability - in other words, a contest of attribute and comprehension.

However, this time, the one at a disadvantage was Rose. She crossed her arms, continuously releasing steam explosions, which seemed like attacks but were defensive measures, the rolling waves of heat blasting her back, her surface temperature steadily dropping, clearly exhausted.

Meanwhile, her opponent's steam explosions grew more and more ferocious, almost completely engulfing the steam she released.

As for the middle-aged law enforcement official in the corner, he was simply terrified, trying to escape but with only the option of jumping off the building, eventually breaking down in a fit of desperation.

"As the saying goes, the one on the left always loses. Your positioning is problematic."

Just as Rose was about to reach her limit, a familiar voice rang out.

"Good girl, move aside a bit."

Rose whirled around to see a figure enveloped in arcing electricity leaping towards them.

That person had jumped over from the opposite department store.

"Wait, you're no match for him!" Rose cried in alarm, "Come back!"

Damon struggled to his feet, witnessing a shocking sight.

Mike descended from the sky, forcefully breaking through the scorching waves of steam, with wild, raging electricity flowing across his body, like a thunderous armor, invincible.

The electric light illuminated Bob's eyes, revealing his immense terror.

As if he had seen a long-dead comrade.

In his fear, he unleashed a steam-infused punch!

Boom!

Mike casually caught his right hand, allowing the scorching steam to explode, but it did not harm him in the slightest, all of it blocked by the lightning armor.

"We're both in the Glory Realm, but you seem quite weak."

Mike exerted a slight pressure, and a crisp sound rang out from his palm.

Bob's right hand was almost crushed!

"Scattered Bloom!"

Disregarding the pain, as if recalling the fear that once dominated him, Bob trembled, "Scattered Bloom! Long Lin! No, this can't be, this is impossible!"

Mike paused, "You know Long Lin? It seems you've crossed paths with her before. But Long Lin died eight years ago. Even after eight years, you're still only at the second layer? To be honest, my grandmother's cultivation progress is faster than yours."

The young man suddenly shuddered, and violent electricity erupted from his body.

Bob was electrocuted, his body convulsing, and then he was kicked away with immense force!

A deafening crash echoed as Bob was sent smashing through a wall on the rooftop.

This was the Praxis that Mike now wielded.

The Origin Praxis, Scattered Bloom.

By activating electricity throughout his body, he greatly enhanced his physical abilities. The electricity gathered on his surface, forming armor, and could even be unleashed as powerful electric currents to achieve area-of-effect attacks.

It was roughly akin to the super moves in old fighting games but with even greater power.

The surrounding Adjudicators all opened fire on the young man, but the bullets that pierced the lightning armor lost their momentum and simply hovered in the air.

Mike stood amidst the hail of bullets, suspended projectiles all around him.

"No need for that, we used to be colleagues. Rose and Damon are just purging heretics, not attacking their superiors without reason. If you keep shooting at me, I'm going to get angry."

Mike's eyes were swirling with electric light, his heartbeat and breathing like the roars of a wild beast, exuding a powerful pressure that enveloped the entire rooftop.

The Adjudicators hesitated.

After all, many of them had witnessed this young man's prowess in battle. A single punch from him could potentially make them vomit their internal organs.

Some Adjudicators who had fought alongside him were already in a panic, openly feigning being terrified, while others started convulsing as if they had been electrocuted.

The show had already begun.

"Bullshit, it's all bullshit!"

Bob stood up in a rage. "Why are the officials of the Enforcement Bureau heretics? And what are you doing? You're attacking your superiors, interfering with the proceedings of the Heresy Tribunal!"

Mike crossed his arms and spoke calmly, "First, you're not my superior. Second, I'm protecting the hostages, and saving your stupid ass in the process."

Bob raged, "What did you say?"

Suddenly, he heard a sound from behind.

Bang! Bob's right hand was blown off by a bullet, blood gushing out.

A white-robed Necro Cult disciple charged out from the dark hallway, knocking him away with terrifying brute force, and then reached for a dagger, about to slit his throat!

At the critical moment, Mike suddenly grabbed the man's arm!

When their eyes met, Mike's gaze held no killing intent, only barely restrained amusement.

"Damn, Williams' outfit is too abstract."

Williams, seeing the lightning on Mike's body, had a dazed look in his eyes.

"Scattered Bloom, it's been a while."

His gaze then turned serious, as if saying, "Be serious, no laughing allowed!"

Williams' left fist punched the air, the shockwave forcing the youth back.

Without hesitation, he pounced on the middle-aged official in the corner.

"Don't kill me, don't kill me!" the official screamed but was grabbed by the collar and hoisted up.

Williams leaped from the 20th floor, jumping from air conditioning unit to air conditioning unit, then crashed heavily onto the wide balcony, knocking over several potted plants.

From the 20th floor to the street below, it took less than five seconds. Amid the shouts of passersby, he then hijacked a taxi and sped away.

"The Necro Cult dares to kidnap people in broad daylight?" Mike shouted from the rooftop, pretending to protect Bob the Grand Adjudicator. "I'll go chase down the heretic!"

He then jumped down from the 20th floor as well.

Rose yelled, "Damon, stay and clean up the scene, I'll go after him!"

Damon grunted in response. He had to stay and deal with the aftermath, to prevent any trouble.

Aside from him, the only ones left on the rooftop were Bob and his temporary subordinates. But Bob was in no condition to say anything, as he had been severely injured from the impact.

What had unfolded here could only be described as an attack by the Necro Cult.

"Woooo!" Mike rode a bicycle like a maniac down the street, his feet pedaling furiously, turning the simple human-powered vehicle into a blur like a speeding motorcycle. He weaved recklessly through the traffic, like a biker gang member.

This was his first battle after reaching a new realm. It had been a thrilling, overwhelming victory.

Though he didn't get to fully enjoy the fight, it was enough. As Williams had said, since he had mastered this kind of metaphysical power, he could no longer stay low-key. Might as well be ostentatious to the fullest, to build a powerful image and command respect.

"Putting on a show even on a bicycle," Rose said, hugging his waist.

Mike laughed, "How did you know I reached the Glory Realm?"

Rose just rolled her eyes, not bothering to respond.

"Impressive, right?" Mike said. "From now on, Daddy will protect you."

"Hmph," Rose grunted, unable to find a good retort. The power of the celestial system was indeed formidable, and difficult to wield. But once mastered, one's combat prowess would surpass that of peers. And lightning, within the celestial system, was one of the mightiest.

For this youth to have advanced from the Origin Realm to the Glory Realm in just over ten days, and to skillfully command the power of lightning, was truly remarkable.

"How much divine tree sap did you drink?" Rose asked scathingly. "Does your urine smell like it?"

Mike shrugged. "How'd you know?"

But as the words left his mouth, he felt the woman behind him go limp, softly leaning against his back, a faint fragrance wafting around him.

"I know I'm charming, but please, miss, maintain some decorum. You're a lady."

Rose coldly replied, "I've been electrified, you jerk."

"Oh, sorry about that."

Mike was riding his bicycle and turned the street corner.

A taxi had been waiting in the alley for a long time already.

The so-called driver was Lisa in disguise.

Williams had also changed his outfit, dressing up like a mobster.

As for the middle-aged official, he was cowering in the corner, trembling.

"This performance is flawless."

Mike got off his bike and sighed, "It's just a pity that my aura is too conspicuous, and I can't keep a low profile. Otherwise, I would also want to pretend to be a Necro Cult disciple."

With that, he lifted the woman from the back of his bicycle.

It wasn't because he cherished her, but because she was truly electrified.

Seeing this, Lisa narrowed her eyes but said nothing.

"You only learned Scattered Bloom?"

Williams lit a cigarette and asked casually.

"Not just that, there's also Thunder Roar, and I can't use Azure Flash yet."

Mike shrugged, "It's mainly because Bob is too weak. If I were to release Thunder Roar, without proper control, he would be visiting his great-grandmother tomorrow."

Williams nodded, "My lieutenant's control is a bit stronger than yours. Back then, this Bob took a Thunder Roar and ended up lying in the hospital for seven years and eleven months."

Mike was stunned, "So he just got out of the hospital?"

Williams nodded, "And he's back in again."

Mike shook his head, "So inhumane."

He then looked towards the corner at the law enforcement official, "What's the deal with this guy?"

Lisa took a glance and felt it was too greasy, waving her hand in refusal.

Rose briefly explained the situation.

The group fell into contemplation.

Lisa bit her fingertip, deep in thought.

Seeing this, Mike, fearing she might come up with another radical idea, said, "Based on this guy's testimony, we can confirm that Stellar Biotech Limited is very likely being manipulated by the Necro Cult in the background. And he also found that they are suspected of misappropriating public funds."

"I guess the misappropriated funds they used might have been for Dark Matter experiments. That's why their above-board accounts have issues."

He thought for a moment, "We just need to check where their money is coming from, right?"

Williams raised his chin, pointing to a skyscraper in the distance.

"There, that's the place."
