Imho, everybody can be upset about a bunch of things and it’s okay, even if it’s about a joke. Like. It’s ok to be upset about Josh making a joke that one wouldn’t like being done to oneselves lol. For example. I’d definitely be the one doing that joke myself 😭🥲 as a NA I found it super funny and I’m definitely doing the same joke in the future (probably about myself tho). I guess it just depends on how you take having to get medication and what exactly this medication does for a person. because as someone who was on it from literal middle school all the way into college this shit had me dry and depressed so I think the joke was just a little bit tackles funny joke, just the wrong time

I think that on any normal day Josh's jab wouldn't have been a big deal. They tease each other viciously but it's all in fun. This time I think the joke fell flat. Josh didn't mean it harm, but Sooch is raw. Acknowledging the need for and having the first appointment with a psychiatrist, his final grades still pending, his relationship with Howie. His feelings are hurt, but he won't hold it against Josh.

There are way too many comments on it already but i gotta give my two cents too unfortunately :u Some people who are close friends might not mind teasing like this. But for some people, saying something like that would be hurtful/insensitive no matter how close they are. Neither is wrong, it’s just a matter of different people feeling differently. Just judging from their previous interactions, I’m gonna guess Josh and Sooch are the former. Or, this could end up being an instance where Josh went too far and Sooch actually does feel a lil bad about it and Josh has to apologize. We don’t know because we don’t have the next pages yet. But. However the reader would feel in Sooch’s shoes is valid, but it’s also good to understand other people might not feel the same as you. I’m a person who’s more likely to get my feelings hurt because I don’t enjoy teasing no matter how close people are to me, so obv I would say I’m not a fan of what Josh said, but I also get that sooch might be different from me and not be bothered. I'm not "policing" people's reactions. A lot of readers interpreted Josh's comment as one with malice and I was just trying to help them see (through Sooch and Josh's previous interactions) that the comment was not charged with the malicious intent they perceived and it's all just friendly banter. People are entitled to they're perception, but I know that if I interpreted something in a way that destroyed my perception of a character I'd be happy if someone (respectfully as I did) corrected that perception which is why I decided to post the comment in the first place. The ADHD comment wasn't meant to invalidate anyone, it was just to say that some people get offended for others when they themselves haven't experienced the situation. I wanted them to understand that, though it may seem offensive, it really is not and for them to be able to hear that from someone who HAS experienced it. And hey, just as they are entitled to their interpretation and you are entitled to not agree with me, I'm entitled to not agree with them and dislike the gross comments that are being made about such a lovely character and try to clarify. I did clarify in my first comment that I had no ill intentions and that the comment wasn't meant to bully anyone. Just wanted to reply in case it wasn't clear enough.

Poor Sooch 🥲 I definitely get it. It took me years to finally accept that I might have anxiety (having any mental health issue that required medication was so heavily stigmatized when I was growing up) to the point where when I talked to my doctor about it she was like “oh yeah no, you definitely do, no question on that” 😅 when I first filled the prescription it felt like i…failed to an extent, like there were some basic qualifiers to being a normal human being and I couldn’t even get that right. Thankfully I got over that awful quick when I started taking the medicine and found out how not panicking 24/7 felt 😅 but either way, it’s such an intense mix of emotions and a huge struggle to go through. I’m glad sooch is taking the first step in that ❤️

This whole thread is so bizarre to me - like, it’s a controlled substance here too but when my doctor prescribed me Concerta she sent the prescription to my pharmacy of choice and I picked it up the next day. I’ve never had an issue. The only real limit on it is that I can’t renew it ahead of time like other medications. Even in the past when there was a shortage starting of another medication I was on for my depression, the pharmacy warned me about it and gave me a 3-month refill instead of just a single month, to make sure I’d be covered for a good while. I didn’t even have to ask, they just did it. I definitely appreciate the Canadian system even more though now. I wish it wasn’t such a struggle to get the support you need elsewhere!

adderall is the most commonly prescribed drug for ADHD, and it is very commonly re-sold illegally. it is a controlled substance because it is an amphetamine, so the DEA is a lot stricter with managing its production. the problem, of course, lies between pharmaceutical company fuckery and DEA hyper-vigilance slowing down distribution. it’s one of those American problems that could probably be solved if every other politician weren’t bought and payed for by the pharmaceutical industry 🙄.

Absolutely. There have been 6 month stretches at a time where my doctor had to call multiple pharmacies and could only scrounge up enough pills for 10 days. It’s not as bad now (in my part of the country at least) but every couple of months my regular pharmacy can’t fill it and we have to go through the process again. I’ve been taking 2 different doses every day for like 7 years and still have a hard time finding it pretty regularly. 😒 Though to be fair I’ve never had an issue filling the 10mg IR Sooch has, only the higher dose ER.

The stigma around meds has definitely gotten better. Before starting mine, I know I thought meds meant I had failed. The real failure is not getting the medical help I needed. There's no prize for having life on the highest difficulty setting. Medication is a tool, not a moral judgment.

I remember my 10mg starter does of Adderall. Now I'm on 30mg extended release plus a small dose for late afternoon. Getting "crazy pills" improved my life so much.

it can be weird! i take 40mg and im a social butterfly with endless task focus! but my stepdad took 10mg and turned into the bitchiest monster ever. it’s all trial and error, don’t be afraid! if it doesn’t work, you can try something else! there’s no detox period for most adhd meds :)
