I meant to post this for Screenshot Saturday, but I was out celebrating Chinese New Year, and then the news blew up, and then even more news blew up, and then I forgot. Anyway! Last week I showed off a GIF of a tool I'm making, a tool to let you simulate feedback loops. This week, here's a GIF showing how you'll actually program it.
How? Drag & drop? Nah, too mainstream.
Let's do PROGRAMMING BY DRAWING.
Drawing a predator-prey feedback loop [GIF]
And on a mobile/tablet device, drawing loops with your fingers and watching them come to life is so much fun. My programming-by-drawing interface was inspired by Ivan Sutherland's SketchPad... from the 1960's. (I've never seen anything like it since, except for Ken Perlin's work-in-progress ChalkTalk!)
I'm excited for when I finally have a playable Patreon-exclusive prototype to share with you all! I'm visiting family back in Vancouver next week – (oh yeah, update from when I made Coming Out Simulator two years ago: I'm finally back on talking terms with my family!) – so I expect I'll have a prototype for you sometime in the third week of February.
Thank you again for all your encouragement and support~ but don't forget to support and love each other, too.
<3,
~ Nicky Case
