I've Got A Lovely Bunch of GIFs

In the last couple months, I've been experimenting with trying to work on multiple projects in parallel, so if I get bored with one, I can jump to another, and the excitement of novelty would always keep me powered through.

This is a bad idea.

Multitasking is a lie, the cognitive cost of switching tasks is huge, and there's no excitement in coming back to a project you haven't touched in a week and going "oh god what the hell is all this"

Not only that, it means it's much longer before I complete any individual project, so that's also demotivating, and why I hadn't updated Patreon much in the last two months.

But hey, now I know not to juggle several projects at once! And you do too!

So while none of these individual projects are complete yet, they will be soon, and I think it'd be awesome to share its progress so far... in GIF form! This GIF album shows off three things I've been up to recently.

In this album, you'll find...

1) The splash screen for my next Explorable, I'd Like To Be A Machine. It's an explorable on neurons, psychology, and how to wire and re-wire ourselves.

2) A prototype for an Explorable on privacy and social media, loosely based off danah boyd's sociological model of Context Collapse.

3) An augmented reality(?) game that messes up your face. Super surreal. Also, the entire game is controlled with your head & face. (Look ma, no hands!)
