Explorable Explanations

Well, it turns out there's a whole bunch of peeps doing kind of the same thing: a mix of text and pictures and play, a mix of show and tell and do. There hasn't really been an effort to collect them all in one place... UNTIL NOW. I guess. Anyway, check out the site! You'll find a whole bunch of stuff sorta like Parable of the Polygons, and hopefully you'll be inspired. :) P.S: GDC was exciting and exhausting. I showed off Coming Out Sim for the IGF, Parable of the Polygons at the experimental gameplay workshop, *and* a Virtual Reality animation for Mozilla... which will be the next Patreon update. Ooh, teasers.

Thanks! And that's a great suggestion - specific tips & instructions on making one's own Explorable Explanation. The most I have is this blog post I wrote on design patterns for interactive ed (<a href="http://blog.ncase.me/explorable-explanations/)." rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://blog.ncase.me/explorable-explanations/).</a> But yes, more concrete tips & tools! (Oh - as for hosting, I'm using Github Pages. It's free, as long as your project is open source!)

I'm an instructional designer and developer, but never have enough time or Javascript-fu to put together truly awesome stuff like Parable of the Polygons. In addition to collecting together examples like these, I would lovelovelove anything you cared to produce that provided tips and instruction on making your own, and/or tools for making interactive content like this quicker and easier to produce without spending a bajillion monies on software or having to host your content in "the cloud", which unfortunately isn't an option for me with work stuff. Anyway, just a thought. Thanks for doing what you do!
