Korra's Most UNDERRATED Episode.
Added 2025-03-20 09:50:49 +0000 UTC"When Extremes Meet" has to be one of my favorite episodes in the entire show. Not only is it well-structured, exciting, and plays into the overall Equalist plotline super well, but it's also excellent commentary on American domestic policy and how groups of people can be excluded out of fear and lust for power.
It really is an incredible depiction of how quickly this sweeping change can take over, even when there are good people in the government, like Tenzin. Most of the officials, while not overtly evil, are merely apathetic, and more concerned with keeping their jobs than actually doing the right thing. Thus, they side with Tarrlok and endorse his extremist policies and rigid policing.
Overall, this episode will never get old for me. There's so much to appreciate here with regard to accurate political commentary, and has one of my favorite duels in the show, as well! Go Korra!
