Is Soldier Boy a Villain? (Unedited)
Added 2024-08-21 08:36:32 +0000 UTCA fair question, especially after the mixed response when I first called him a villain. Upon analysis, I truly don't think it's fair to call him a complete villain. There is a lot of complexity to this character that adds enough to elevate him to a new class. Is he an anti-hero? I'm not sure that word is best to describe him, either, especially since he faces against the heroes of this series.
Ultimately, while I think he is close to earning the title of "anti-hero", he doesn't quite make it there, not only due to this role in the series, but due to his emotional state and role for the "The Boys" universe as a whole. He is damaging, chaotic, and DEEPLY unstable. To let him roam free would be...dangerous, to say the least.
