Why Do People HATE Diane Nguyen from "Bojack Horseman"
Added 2024-03-04 21:54:39 +0000 UTCThere's always been such weird discussion around Diane as a character, where some fans of the show are just really really vicious toward her as a whole. Bojack, however, struggles to get recognized for his mistakes by many, but Diane is always targeted for what she has to say, and this video can hopefully explain why that is a little bit...besides sexism. Because that's part of it.
I always really felt that Diane was such an important character for the main cast, because she shows that while you can speak about doing the right thing, actually doing it is much harder. Plus, she has trouble focusing on her personal life and self because she has such low self-esteem, which is an extremely relatable problem that so many of us go through.
And, by the end of the series, she's a completely new person who cares about others in the right way and doesn't try to force anyone to live by her standards. I loved her development, and wish more people would recognize how greatly-written she is.
Plus, she's not annoying.
