Story time: A few short decades ago, when I shaved my head for the first time, my wife videotaped it. I edited it together with a little music, some artful transitions and nominally humorous title cards, and put it on our website, mainly for the entertainment-slash-shock value for my parents. A few months later, we notice a HUGE surge of traffic to our little personal website. I thought we’d been hacked until I saw it was all focused — at well over 10,000 downloads — on one file: my video. I combed through the logs and discovered the traffic was all coming from a site called The Buzzboard, which catered to men who were Very Enthusiastic about videos of other men cutting, buzzing and shaving their hair. Someone had found my video and posted it there, and modesty forbids going into detail but several of the comments were rather flattering. All of which is to say, I can confirm there are lads for whom showing up for a date with barbering gear would indeed make the heart beat faster.
