SIX SIDEKICKS cover
Added 2021-07-14 17:03:09 +0000 UTCI've done a variant cover for issue 4 (September '21) of Image/Skybound's SIX SIDEKICKS (by Kyle Starks and Chris Schweizer). The covers were meant to be in the style of different print magazines, so I did mine as a pastiche of my favourite New Yorker cover artist, Bob Staake.
I drew a loose sketch first then painstakingly rendered it in Adobe Illustrator. Fortunately, the skills I learned drawing comics using that program for a few years are largely intact. Half the tools seemed to have moved or changed their names, but there are a lot of new toys to play with.
I think the unnecessarily Tom Of Finland cowboy bottom will be under the comic's logo so enjoy it unadulterated in this special viewing area.
