More pen and paper practice

More pen and paper practice. I broke a page of my practice script (Giant Days 38) in half and added some new dialogue to make a strip, because doing full size pages was proving a bit much. I think I inked this one a little bit better, following some reading around technique. When I finished, I liked how it looked like a little webcomic from from the past.

My eyes are still going blurry when I try to ink faces. After so many years of computer drawing, I think they want to "zoom in"? I will donate my body to science when I die and someone with a scalpel can get to the bottom of this.

I've ordered some new dip nibs and ink, if I can master them, I might use them for the next pen practice. Or based on my previous experience with these tools, I might throw them out of the window. Stay tuned to find out!

I do the Patreon thing with another artist (Michael Jantze "The Norm", "Studio Jantze"), and once a year for mid-level subscribers and up, he sends a little sketch and the used pencils and water color pens off his desk along with all sorts of desk flotsam. Keeps his desk clean that way! Of course I have to draw with the pencils/pens, and makes me appreciate just how much of a skill JA and MJ have. Humbling...

Human eyes don't do that John - you have to move your head closer to the object.
