Mrs Clovis' sitting room

More 3D modelling for Mrs Clovis' house in Steeple. Her house is a traditional Cornish cottage, I've been in a few and the key thing to remember is that after you concuss yourself the first time on a door frame, you should try not to do it again for another half an hour to avoid permanent brain damage. I usually hit my head once every seven minutes on average in one of these dwellings. I'm 5'11. Cornish fishermen of the 18th and 19th century were usually 4ft tall.

On Rightmove I was looking for an old person's house - trad furniture and pics. I was delighted that it had a piano as I was sure Mrs C plays the church organ when called upon.

Here's how it turned out. It took me about an hour, and it may not save me an hour in the short term, but the more I play with Sketchup and the better I get at it, the more like playing The Sims it is except no-one's diamond turns red and no one runs away with the next door neighbour to make "woo woo" in the hot tub.

The cottage I used didn't have a dining room so I had to make a doorway to it. I also had to work out where the TV was meant to go. Now, of course, the original occupant might not have had a TV, but Mrs Clovis needs one to watch Pointless Celebrities, NCIS: LA and Vera so I stuck the biggest f-off widescreen I could fit on the wall. She has earned it.

I don't think you can "tan" fishskin, or maybe this is a question for Google... yes you can!! https://www.hunebednieuwscafe.nl/2017/10/making-leather-from-fish-skin/#:~:text=Fish%20skin%20can%20be%20tanned,for%20soaking%20in%20hot%20water.

Shouldn't that be a kraken skin on the carpet?

It's a spinet, I think. I'll be shocked if Clovis doesn't have lace doilies and doodads on it.
