Hey there! How’s it going? Are you remembering to socially distance, wear masks, wash your hands, and refrain from touching your face? If you’re voting in person, keep all of these things in mind!
Sorry I’ve been kind of silent lately. I know these are high stress times for a number of reasons, and I need to touch base more often. But I’ve been busy! I’m sure we all are, to varying degrees. So much to take care of these days.
Preparing for Winter. Watching our health. Taking care of family. We spent several hours waiting in line to vote. Worth it! And of course I’m still chipping away at that Zebra Girl Omnibus. I never dreamed that it would be so much work, annotating every single page of eighteen years! Seems obvious when I say it like that. I never was any good at estimating a workload. Still, progress is progress. Oh, and I’m learning Spanish.
Also, I’ve been hired by another artist for five new pages of non-Zebra Girl work, and I’ll be posting (most of) it here very soon! It’s great fun, and it feels wonderful to be working my craft again. I think I’ll keep the nature of the project a surprise just for now, suffice to say that it would be perfect for Halloween. It’ll miss the mark, but what the heck, everything’s messed up this year. ¡Yo siempre estoy demasiado tarde! Lo siento.
Speaking of time, I just turned 40 on the 25th. So did my twin sister, naturally! I drew us a picture as a gift (and I tried being a human for once), and before you say anything, I know this looks more like a “husband and wife” arrangement but I just wanted to say that I’m always there for her and her two little girls, Ashley and Elise. I hope you all manage to similarly love and be loved.
Happy holidays, everyone. Thanks for everything. Take care of yourselves and others, and we’ll get through this year together.
Heck of a decade.
