Le Prince d'Orange - French Song

Comments

So pretty! 😍 Farya, one of my favorite things your compositions have introduced me to are different kinds of drums and styles of percussion. The daf, in particular is soooo cool. Also, do you think you'll ever open a po box some day? There is a little something I'd love to make for you to go with some of your costumes.

It's a living folk tradition that's entirely orally taught so you won't find any resources detailing their melodic patterns, they're just known by habit and listening. So the only resource I can point to is the music itself: keep listening and after a while you'll notice some common melodic tendencies, both regional and pan-regional. The thing with these modal folk traditions is that they're entirely reliant on the ear so they're not conceived of in terms of written down notation or music theory that one can consult

Unrelated to the song but I have a question. I wanna learn more about the Greek traditional styles, especially their melodic patterns. what resources can you recommend for this? Song sounds great btw
