Stella Splendens - Medieval Iberian Song

This is my final rework of Stella Splendens after posting it initially in december of 2023. The aim with this reconstruction is to capture two elements of the song that are often missing in either the Bardcore/Neo-Medieval renditions of the songs, and even some of its historically informed renditions: the fact that this is a song from the Iberian peninsula, and that it's a dance song.

Even in the historical reconstruction scene, Stella Splendens is often only incorporated as an example of Medieval music at large without taking into account its geographical location. This reconstruction uses information from various visual and textual sources such as the Cantigas de Santa Maria to incorporate sounds specific to the Iberian pensinsula in that period. More info will be available in the description and pinned comment of the YouTube release.

Just listened to it and they're very similar indeed. We both seem to have went for the sounds present in the Iberian peninsula then, namely the drums attested in the Cantigas de Santa Maria manuscripts, as well as the omnipresence of the Oud, yielding similar results.

Great rendition! Reminds me of Sarband's interpretation in their album, "Llibre Vermell De Montserrat".
