March community poll

First off, thanks for your continued support. The funds from this patreon page have been invaluable to being able to continually work on this project.

Next, here's a small update. Some additional defensive/support structures have been added, so here's a little preview of that:

If you are curious about why the two large structures here have no shadows, well, that's a bug. As stated before, shadows and lighting as a system will be completely revised in a total rendering engine overhaul, so I've been trying to avoid losing any sleep over polishing minutia like that. There's also a slight misalignment going on with the gates in this GIF, which again is something I'd polish at a later time; gates in general need some reworking to fit within the design goals of DORF, namely allowing them to have only a part of their footprint be retractable, to allow for things like gatehouses that infantry can capture to take control of the gate.

I've also taken the time go back and redo the Imperial wall sprites, to make them a bit more fancy.

The sprites will also dynamically align themselves with walls that intersect the defensive structure at certain points. This doesn't serve a purpose, but does look nice, and makes proper base layout and defensive gun facing a bit more intuitive.

For comparison, the NWO walls again:

And for comparison again, the Warband walls, although no changes have been made to them:

As for the poll itself, I'll include 3 options here:

- Continue working on NWO structures, including mobile production and resource structures, base defenses and other necessary components of a base.

- New unique Warband units, as described in the poll last time. This would include powerful psychic infantry, abhumans such as giants, and more bizarre scrap vehicles.

- Field guns and artillery. These would include things such as machine gun crews, which can fire as normal units, or deploy a tripod mount for better, more accurate fire, as well as heavy guns for long range bombardment, mortars, anti-aircraft cannons, as well as auxiliary support units such as radars and detectors that must deploy to operate. Note that these units would require some additional engine modifications to fully function (specifically, making deployable units smarter by having them auto-deploy when in range of an enemy, rather than requiring manual deployment) and so their demonstration ingame would be more of a preview.
