Luck and preperation are key

While it is important to work constantly on your craft or skill, understand that luck plays A major role. There are a ton of artist who are technically more skilled than me...probably even with better ideas...but I was ready for my moments. When the opportunities came my best work was saved on my phone....I had that pencil and pad in my backpack to draw something on the spot...or I was just likeable. Many opportunities came simply because someone really enjoyed my company...they didn't even know I was an artist until they asked for my Instagram, then it comes up "wait you drew this?! Wow!" Sometimes it's best to not even bring up your talents but instead just be your best genuine self. Sometimes, people will support you simply because they like you as a person.
