The Elder Scrolls: A Promise Unfulfilled

My latest and largest video essay by a country mile is complete! Part documentary, part opinionated analysis, I hope you enjoy this 78-minute ride through the ups and downs of the best-selling video game RPG series of all time!

I have to give a lot of credit to Morrowind since it was a huge technical leap and recreated much of the previous games' mechanics into a brand new, unfamiliar engine with a small team at one point. The fact that they continued to simplify and trim things away after that though is frustrating. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, hope it was worth the wait!

Thank you. I've never played Daggerfall myself, but I see now why you endorse it much. I think I'll give it a fair shot. While Morrowind is still beloved by me, this video uncovers it's much less ambitious, even though I could still argue it's as immersive of a fantasy "world" province simulator :) I very much miss spell making feature from previous games. Funny enough, Oblivion NPCs and models somehow looked much worse and less organic to me rather than those in Morrowind despite much more modern technical capabilities. Anyway, thanks for the immense amount of work you've done here, it's truly remarkable.

Awesome. Seems like you thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for your support and patronage, it helped me get through these past months of writing, editing and mastering!
