The first asset pack of this month is a followup to a series that started in 2022, but unfortunately didn't get an update last year and I felt it was time to rectify that. Ancestral Assets is our asset series that looks to inject more "real world" assets into the library inspired by world cultures from good 'ol Earth. The past two iterations were each divided into two halves, each focusing a little bit on their own peoples, but this time around I've (somewhat arbitrarily) decided to devote the entirety of Part 3 to a set inspired by ancient Egyptian cultures.
As in the other sets, Part 3 seeks to primarily visualize assets that we would be unlikely to find in other themes (which is why you will not see more natural elements like what might be contained in a future "Desert Assets 2"). This includes symbols and icons of the time, props and furnitures that are specific to different cultural practices, as well as any unique kinds of architecture or technology that I can create a passable representation of. That's why I hope you'll enjoy this wide blend of asset types that ranges from camels and mummification wraps to map-dominating pyramids and a new line of updated housing styles!
Ancestral 3 contains:
28 different buildings of various shapes/sizes using a newer style of building decor, along with all of the disparate parts needed for making your own bespoke buildings
a variety of pyramids ranging from 2x2 squares to 16x16 squares
tools for mummification including wraps, bowls, urns, and a handful of mummified corpses in various states
a myraid array of camels, canvas stalls, sarcophagi, palanquins, runic carvings, statuettes, and more
And of course, my "example map" of a suggested layout of a pyramid and its interior as found at its city center, arriving with unfurnished variants and isolated PNGs of the pyramid's interior for overlaying on top of the exterior during play
The Dungeondraft-ready conversion of Ancestral Assets 3 contains everything therein as an object within the mapmaking program along with a majority of said objects featuring a colorable counterpart. You'll also find a path option for the new wall style included in here, intended to be used with its other disparate corners, caps, etc. as objects.
Enjoy!
