Reset CSP settings completely! Goto /Documents/Assetto Corsa/cfg/ rename the "extension" folder to something different. Restart CM. It will create a new "extension" folder. You can restore it later. Select Pure as weather style again in CSP weatherFX settings.

First, the first error you posted is an AC error. So somehting is not right with your Documents folder! If this is fixed, just watch the install video and follow all the steps there!

I am brand new to sim racing and Assetto Corsa, though I have experience with two other racing sims without any problems. To ensure I was following the correct process for installing Pure, I carefully watched two instructional videos: Video 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22CbO5ISEGc Pure’s Official Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX25fVdnI_A Previously, I could successfully launch Assetto Corsa from Moza Pit House, Content Manager, and Steam. During the Pure installation, both videos demonstrated unpacking Pure into a folder, then selecting four folders to either copy or extract again into the Assetto Corsa root directory. In the videos, after hitting "extract," it appeared that these folders were copied to the AC root folder. I questioned whether this step was redundant since the folders already seemed unpacked after the initial extraction. I checked their contents, confirmed they were unpacked, and then copied them to the AC root folder at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa Following the instructions, I set Weather FX to Pure, and it appeared as expected. However, the next step in the video showed some red text settings, but the screen was blurry and I couldn't read them. These instructions were also missing from the other video. I proceeded to the Drive section, set the weather to Pure, and performed the in-game test. The right side HUD appeared, and all screens matched what was shown in the video, i matched your first selection. I closed the HUD, as I didn't want all that information displayed, and tried to run the car—nothing happened. There were no engine sounds, and the pedals did not respond. I exited the game. When I tried launching the game from Moza Pit House, I received this Windows error: "Access to the path C:\Users\mypcname\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\controllers\presets\Default.ini is denied." I encountered the same error when launching from Content Manager or Steam. I ran the uninstall.bat file, but nothing changed—Pure remained in all the same screen locations. As instructed in one of the videos, I had copied the uninstall.bat to the AC root folder. I also tried running it from the original unpacked folder, but it prompted me to select a folder and I was unsure what to do next. when I closed the select folder popup , the bat proceeds asking if I want to uninstall. There should be a path that points the uninstall bat to AC root, or a check if it's located in correct folder. It shouldn't allow to proceed if its in the wrong place. Additionally, I noticed that the "common" folder under Steam is hidden and inaccessible via Windows Explorer, even though I have hidden items enabled. That means in the popup to select the AC root I couldn't because it can't see it. I can only access it by entering the full path directly in the address bar. I am not unfamiliar with complex mods, but I believe your videos should start by recommending users create a system restore point. I know this is best practice, but I forgot to do so. Furthermore, you mention that the old install.bat method no longer works. I suggest you develop an installer app that checks for all required components, with a separate video for each step, so users aren’t overwhelmed by a long, complicated process. The installer should verify each component before allowing users to proceed, or it should handle the installation of each component itself, with a checklist confirming everything is present and working. Unless you can provide instructions to fix my situation, I plan to uninstall and reinstall Assetto Corsa later today at 4 PM PST. I do understand the work to make Pure and then available and then updated is immense. I appreciate it but, sadly this is costing a lot of time and angst, will sing your praises if we get it running properly ..

If you still have Sol installed, please deactivate Sol weather and Sol Planner app. Those have their own wiper controls and the block the CSP auto wiper control...

Pure and Sol doesn't works well togethers. Just use Pure on it own. Pure or LCS Pure in weather setting on it own then when setting up the races or roam there another weather tab change that to Pure or LCS pure same as in setting. Also for rains etc that down to CSP

Hi! :) I know it might not be 100% right here, but I haven't been using Pure for very long and the problem also occurs with Sol; is there a fix for the problem that the AI ​​basically doesn't go into the pit when it's wet and/or raining, regardless of whether it's for fuel or for other tires, for example with Nuzzi's Pit App? Please watch the install video and follow the steps exactly!!! If you fps are that low, Pure is not installed properly. You must install it EXACTLY like in the video! That means for Pure, open it with 7zip app, mark the 4 folders and use the "Extract to" button and choose your used AC root folder. In CM - settings - Content Manager - general, you see your used AC root folder...

If you have a preview version of CSP, better install it manually: Delete the dwrite.dll in AC root folder. Open the CSP preview zip file and EXTRACT the "dwrite.dll" and the "extension" folder to your AC root folder (Steam install folder of AC "common\assettocorsa").

I have been using Pure without issues and controlling the time via the Pure planner app, and everytime I loaded a race the time (the hour of the day I mean) started counting without any problem. Since a few days ago I have noticed that if I don´t hit the "play" button the time won´t start counting at all and it will remain the same hour for the entire race. I can´t recall having touch anything in Pure settings or CSP, this is rather strange but maybe you could have any idea why is happening?

I use them because of the traffic costs. Actually mediafire and esp mega is really quick. But maybe it depends on your location. I can't use google drive, becaue they have a limited traffic. Pure is 3.5GB big and that means if like 20000 people are downloading it in 1 month that means it will take 60TB trafiic just for 1 Pure version. I have pro accounts for both mediafire and mega and those will garanty you the traffic. Google Drive does not give you such high traffic. The current limit is 750GB per day and so only 200 people could download it per day, which is not enough, esp. on release days/weeks.

What do you mean it is combined? Rain becomes snow with temperatures below 3°C. So if you don't want snow, just set the air temperature above this value. For "Snow" and "Sleet" weathers it will always snow, regardless of which air temperature is used.

First, please install the newest version of Content Manager like shown in the install video. Second, yes, CSP is not made by me, it is made by Ilja Jusupov. So yes you also need to be patreon of him to get rain. Pure would also work with the free/public version of CSP, but then you don't have rain. That's what this disclaimer is all about.

Hi - I installed Pure 2.38 and have Pure LCS selected in the Custom Shaders Patch but it does not show in the Drive tab to select. I do not see the "static" and "dynamic" sections that show in the video. Only Sol shows there. The link under the "Rain comes NOT with Pure" takes me to a "posts - Couple of Urgent" link to another developer that appears to require another patreon payment/subscription that looked suspicious, so I did not find a download there to install.

I cant get pure to work it is giving me errors in the lua debug tell me no skydome, and error for csp and weather fx. It also says pure is not running and i tried to delete the 2 files and reinstall csp but nothing has worked.

I use VR (Reverb G2, OpenXR) and after installing Pure 2.38 and CSP 0.2.6, I started to get very bad strobing and significant overexposure using the "AE+CBE" or "Hybrid" presets. "Fixed" does not strobe or flicker but is too dark overall; YEBIS is biased too bright; Cubemap Brightness Estimation is probably the best for daytime racing, but they all have other issues with dark/night racing. Often they are too dark unless I crank the exposure artificially high (e.g. I cannot see the skybox or distant buildings and scenery at all, when I know I should be able to). Pure 2.38 and CSP 0.2.6 were clean installs following complete uninstall of previous versions; I made a video showing the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey1A4sVFI5c Is anyone else having this problem?

Try in CM to go to Settings > Custom Shaders Patch > Weather FX and click on the dropdown which says "Default" normally, then you can choose Pure LCS or Pure Gamma and it will then enable the Pure Planner, Pure Config and Pure PP extensions through the in-game menu (move mouse to right hand side of the screen and you can either find the icons or search for "Pure" in the search box).

Is it possible to create my own custome weather preset? Like 'heavy rain', 'thunderstorm' etc. I want one where i can have fully wet road, but no rain. I understand this is possible using pure controller, but it is not possible while you're in a server. So that's why I'm asking if there's a way to somehow edit one of the weather plan code or smth to get my desired result ?

You must watch the install video and follow the steps exactly. If an error occurs in AC it will slow down the system tremendously! An error could happen, because not all the files were extracted properly. So please extract them exactly like shown in the official install video!

Maybe you was hiding it?! Ingame move the mouse to the right so the side menu comes up. Then right click the first menu button (the "all apps" button). Choose "settings" At the button of the settings you see all hidden apps. You can "unhide" it there!

You must install Pure exactly like it is shown in the install video! Maybe try to use the uninstall_pure.bat before you install Pure. You must use a file extractor like 7zip and you must use the "Extract" button to properly install it. Also check your used AC root folder in CM - settings - Content Manager - general!

Actually the snow is not a bug. If temperatures are set to under 3°C rain becomes snow with the newest CSP and Pure 2.38. If you don't want this, set the temperatures higher in CM Drive or in Pure Planner app -> weather slot -> "data" tab. All other rain related graphics issues are not cause by Pure! Pure Planner and weather controller are just setting the rain parameters.

Found a bug where in 2.38, all weather involving rain causes puddles and rain on the car, but the rain falling from the sky is replaced with snow particles.

For me the black screen in VR happens when I turn off MSAA, it is found under "settings>assetto corsa>video". I use the hp reverb g2 v2. I hope it helps.

i think i figure it out, just increase the temperature before loading a race, below where you set weather as pure, there is an option for adjusting temperature (Under Drive section in content manager). It was once mentioned on one of the updates that below 3 degrees Celsius the rain turns into snow. Just increase the temp until it becomes rain for heavy rain/heavy thunderstorm/tornado.

What is going on with VR in Pure Gamma? Admittedly, I've been using LCS for some time now, which is great, but I wanted to go back to Gamma to run a few tests. However, I'm encountering a very weird issue. With Gamma enabled in each eye, besides the regular picture, I have a small L-shaped frame mirroring part of the screen from the other eye. So, basically, 95% of what each eye sees is correct, but the remaining 5% is a mirror from the other eye. Bizarre. This goes away when lightweight Yebis replacement is enabled but then colors are all off. LCS works fine.

I guess you are at Shutoko map? Lower the Night Light Pollution in Pure Config app Night tab. There you can also deactivate the "stars adaption" which makes a natural brightness of the stars. You can also gain stars brightness there... Stars are not the sky! Skies are the skydomes - Clouds and such

Imo there will be no modding interface to do such things. I predict there will only track and car mods and also they will be in a close ingame mod-shop system. AC1 is now so mod-able, no other game can achieve this. Imo Kunos is not interested in opening the sim for such modding. They would need to give support for it and this killed AC1 for them, because the people always want more and better features if one comes out. So i guess the will have like a blackbox and if modding comes then only limited tracks or cars will come, if they find modding groups which will fit there licence strategy.

If you have a look into the update post it will show you that Pure is compatible from CSP 0.2 or higher for Pure Gamma and CSP 0.2.3 or higher for Pure LCS. Also in Content Manager you should be able to install all CSP versions!

Yes, thats intentional, because FXAA actually is not really working with Pure. There is currently a CSP bug. Maybe just use the FXAA 1.0 or CSAA

Please check your used AC root folder in CM - settings - Content Manager - general. Maybe you have AC installed twice. You must extract the 4 folders in exactly that folder which you see there! Just hit the "open" button!

Red is the default "highlight" color in Content Manager. So every setting you do which is not default will be shown as a highlight so red. You need a CSP preview version for rain! If you select "Snow" or "Sleet" weather types, you have a forced snow effect. For all other weather types, rain becomes snow with air temperatures lower than 3°C. Also check CM - settings - CSP - about&update if CSP 0.2.7p1 is installed properly. I like PURE but there is something I miss from previous versions, I'm thinking of going back to SOL. I use AC in VR and I remember how I was amazed to see the brightness of the sun on the track, also on the materials inside the car, you could really recognize the material inside. Now everything seems very simple, the track looks dark with hardly any brightness and the materials of the car look unrealistic. Does anyone know how to improve this? English is not my language and it is difficult to make a good configuration with so many options

Maybe better you go to Pure Discord Seerver for such specific things. I tested it and sunblinding works in the latest Pure Gamma. For Pure LCS you could just describe at Discord what the problem is. I have two renamed assetto corsa folders installed: one as pure2.16 and the other as the latest version of pure. In version 2.16, sunblinding works perfectly in LCS. In later versions that use PurePP, sunblinding works very rarely (as I already explained the problem in a previous topic). But now my question is different and that's why I'm opening a new topic: Doesn't sunblinding work in pure gamma? Whatever version I'm playing, 2.16 or current, sunblinding.facing is constantly 0.000000 (pure config/shaders/sunbliding)

Hi Peter, first of all congratulations on all your work - it's mind blowing how much the game is transferred for the better with the work of yourself and Ilja. I seem to have a strange glitch in vr whereby the right eye doesn't show the skydome properly, but this only happens when your head is tilted (to the left I think) it seems that the problem shows a reveal of the old sky underneath, tilting to the other side is fine however. (i am not running single pass vr) Any idea of how to rectify this? thanks - carne

So after going through the installation video and following everything step by step with a brand new install/setup, I'm seeing an issue that only happens during night races in the rain - the reflections of the streetlights on the road appear to flicker rapidly (both in VR and on my mirrored screen). This only happens during rain settings (and ANY rain setting, regardless of intensity.) Is there a specific setting that's causing this?

Hi, when driving in VR, small blinks and flashes menu apps appears and dissapears that last for just milliseconds but it is very annoying. This not happens when driving with a monitor. Really enjoying but tried out LCS today and everything is extremely washed out. Filter options don't seem to change this very much. Messed with a few sliders, but once brightness is acceptable, the image quality is no longer worth it. Best way to overcome this? PP brightness doesn't appear to effect. If I take light sun level down the beautiful skydome is gone.

Sure, But AC has a temperature limit at 0°C and so you have a decent range of it. Also Snow can be even possible at those temps, because the air is colder in higher altitudes!

It is then just not installed completelly! Maybe download it again and install it exactly like it is shown in the install video! You really must open the zip with a file extractor like 7zip and you must use the "Extract to" button there! also check your used AC root folder in CM - settings - Content Manger - general. if you still have problems, use the community chat here or better - Pure's Discord Server: Link your Discord account in Patreon settings - More - Connected apps. It doesn't matter if you install it the first time. If you already have CM and CSP, just do the Pure install. You can have Sol and Pure installed besides each other. But if you want an automatic wiper control in Pure, Please deactivate the Sol_planner and Sol_weather app in CM - settings - AC - python apps. Those apps will prevent the automatic wipers in Pure, because Pure and its apps don't control the wiper themselve, it is done by CSP. So you do nothing wrong if you do the full install video. It will work anyway. But if you just want to update Pure, just do the part where Pure is installed. Actually its always just an extraction of files and folders to AC root folder. But many users try different install methods and the chance is high that this will cause problems. So if people follow the steps it will always work.

Hello, sorry, this is my first time trying to install Pure and I’m a bit lost. I have CSP 0.2.6-p1 and SOL. The installation video shows a clean installation, but it’s not clear if I need to uninstall SOL if I already have it (I’ve seen that in other versions it was necessary). You reply to many comments emphasizing that we should follow the instructions in the video exactly, does this mean that if we already have a previous setup, we should delete and uninstall everything and start from scratch? It's possible I misunderstood something, as my English is not that good, I would appreciate a little help.

Please just watch the install video!!!!!! You need the latest CSP preview 0.2.6p1 and you need Pure 2.38. Their installation is shown in the install video. Please watch it!

Where do you save a weather preset? If you mean the weather presets in Pure Planner - settings. This is not the way you save weather plans! Please have a look at the end of the Pure install video. There you see how you change weather in a weather slot. You can then save a weather plan with the save and load buttons at the left side tool menu of Pure Planner app.

Another question, when trying to save a weather preset, i click save as and enter the file name, but when i exit, create a new session, and try to load the preset that i saved, nothing changes. (ex. the track wetness, cloud preset and time of day.) I am not sure if this is a dumb mistake on my part, but I looked online and i cannot seem to find anything on the issue.

Hi Peter, the Pure coupon works perfectly, I have snow on the track, the only problem is that in Timed and Stamp mode when the weather changes from rainy or hurricane to sunny it continues to rain even without clouds, it's a settings or programming problem ? Hello great job so far, first time im having a issue i cant solve on my own.. reverted to soul 2.5 and still getting double vision in the cockpit of VRC 1999 north american car as well as other mods. Dash doesnt work either. Cant see RPMS or Gear its blank. Also the sky will double vision with the 2.38 pure. It also has worse frames. I didnt change any graphical settings. Any ideas? Anyone else getting double vision in VR... Quest 3.

Gamma Color space is used in older games and also in Vanilla Assetto Corsa. In video games, you calculate the lighting with a much higher dynamic, than you can output on the Monitor. A monitor usually only has 8bit color resolution per channel (RGB). But this is very rough to calculate light. You would see many quantification then. So internally you use a much higher range, but then you must compress it, to display it on monitors. That is what tonemapping does. But tonemapping is an additional render pass. In Gamma Color space, the light calculation uses a higher dynamic, but it is already compressed in the calculation. A "gamma" curve is used to shrink high tone values to lower ones. Therefore it is still possible to output the result of that calculations without tonemapping. That is what AC uses, if you deactivate PP on the video settings. Those calculations are done in different "shaders". They calculate the sun, ambient and many other lights on the materials. So AC uses Gamma shaders and CSP also do to be compatible. But this Gamma calculations bring many errors into the calculation. The lighting is already compressed and high tone values are wrongly mixed. Kunos prevents this by keeping the sunlight (which has the highest value) low. That works for most cases, but the result always feels dull and you always have the feel of missing sunlight. But it can work without Postprocessing and tonemapping. In Postprocessing you have the same functions to handle dynamics. Gamma is a function there too, but PP is already at the end of the render path and it has no meaning for the shaders. That's why it is called POST processing . . So now comes a new part of CSP, to improve lighting. Ilja added new shaders to calculate the lighting linear, like in every modern game. The tone values are no more compressed within the color mixing and light calculation. So you have a very natural processing of the light. But now you really need tonemapping to compress the resulting tones to displayable tones on the monitor. The new shaders are called LCS shaders. Linear color space shaders. To work with them it was needed to rewrite the weather style and therefore there are now 2 versions of Pure. Pure Gamma is the Pure which works with the older gamma shaders. And it represents my 3 year long work to create a very natural light in Gamma space. Pure LCS is a new weather style which exclusively uses LCS shaders and it is completely different to Pure Gamma. In Pure LCS I introduced a lot more methods to make the weather style efficient to save fps and keep the frame flow steady and equal. So Pure LCS is the newest invention in terms of a weather style and it will give you great performance. But Pure LCS is no more usable with Postprocessing deactivated. But it has a way better color presentation and better ways to create real life like graphics.

Hello, I installed CSP v0.2.6 and pure 2.38, everything is fine, but when I alt-tab or enter online servers, there is color distortion. On some online servers, the lines covering the edges of buildings, trees, cars are only yellow, while on some online servers there are mixed colors, can you please help?

Peter, i have 3 problems: 1. The snowflakes are too big and too white.Where can i find the material properties of the snowflakes,in which file? I would like to reduce them in size and also darken a little bit.I mean,in which file/folder i find these settings so i can adjust myself ? 2. I get strange pixels(like minecraft pixels)on the screen at random times during playing,this is happening only with this latest csp version.I looked into files and disabled NEW dds loader. But i still get the artifacts,no matter which settings i change.I also looked into depth of field settings but is the same.As i observed,it's happening only when camera is in car,not from free camera. 3. After installing this version of CSP, the traffic cars became invisible,the cars are still on the road because i can collide with them and also headlights are visible on the road and FPS drops if i increase the number of cars,it's just they are invisible. my pure flashes in game n when i reinstall its just says im not using a weather script and i have no idea how to fix it seems when i went to csp2.6 prev to try snow i got it going in air but not on roads and then i tried to do a clean reinstall to remove unnessecary mod cars i have and lower my program impact on my hhd i seemed to have messed everything up.. followed the newest install video to a tee but my pure is not running right at all

Rain becomes a ow if temperatures are below 3°C. Set the ambient temperature higher than it. In CM Drive menu or in-game in Pure Planner. Open the current weather slot and go to the data tab. Watch the end of the install video to see how you use Pure Planner.

After doing the manual install of CSP, instead of using the quick install link via CM, snow is working now. The way the snow is moving through the air is real nice, but snowflakes seem a bit too round (I use VR by the way)? Real snowflakes have a much more crystalline shape, but that may be too complex to render costing performance/FPS?

For all other weather than snow and sleet, rain becomes snow with low ambient temperatures. So just set your temps higher than 3°C and you have rain again.

For those having trouble the easiest fix is to use the uninstal.bat file in the new pure download and place it in your Assetto Corsa root folder. Then use the file to delete your old pure versions. Not deleting your original versions and downloading the new version and overwriting will not work. So delete old pure versions and then install. New clean install is the fix. Before you delete the old versions of pure make sure you keep a copy of your pure filter scrips and config setting as mine had gotten deleted after doing this. Luckily I thought a head and saved them and just placed them back in to pure. Hope this helps people with troubleshooting and remember everyone deserves to experience snow in Assetto Corsa! Merry Christmas!

Hello Peter. I did the manual install of the new CSP. Pure seems to be working fine. But I don't have snow. I've select Nurburgring GP and 0C, and tried out with rain, snow, heavy snow. On the external camera I can see some spots on the car, but not the track. And onboard it looks like just rain. Any ideia?

Reset CSP settings completely! Goto /Documents/Assetto Corsa/cfg/ rename the "extension" folder to something different. Restart CM. It will create a new "extension" folder. You can restore it later. Select Pure as weather style again in CSP weatherFX settings. Also use the "pure" PPfilter

I’m playing in VR, and I noticed some strange visual problems. From a distance, the cars are glowing, but as I get closer, they turn matte black. The windows of some cars are green, the exhaust pipes are purple—something’s wrong with the colors after the update. I haven’t changed any settings. Can you help figure out what this might be and how to fix it? It’s become very uncomfortable to play like this.
