Why Is Willard Named Willard

1. Willard (horror movie about rats) - love rats, loved the movie, the rats weren't the villains, so this movie has been living in my head for a while
2. Castaway - the way tom hanks bonds with a volleyball - before I had human employees, it was just me, Willard, and Riri, and I kept Riri out of the basement for her health (fumes = bad for little rat lungs) and so I started talking to Willard.
3. I'm a huge fan of musicals, and the stupid (yes, I said it) movie version of Hairspray, John Travolta's character has a very memorable way of saying "Wilbur" (her husband), and that sort of drawl adds to the effect.
Something something, these things conflated into that
P.S. this is Willard without some of his "upgrades" (aka eyes)
