Progress Update: Failure to Expect

Hello, helpful humans!

I'm back! Back for a week of actual posts and updates.

Still, I've got no time for frippery at the moment, so I'm gonna take the precious few minutes I have for writing this and cut right to the heart of things.

So, let's talk about how the Pratchett series is going...

Where are we now?

CLOSE.

I've just finished editing the audio for the first Pratchett episode, and Felipe is hard at work making assets for the video. If all goes as planned (HAH), I should have those by the end of the week and be well into actual production by the weekend.

It's been a long, long time coming, but with the way the new pipeline works, this is just kinda going to be the way of things at the start of each new series. I figured it would be better to let time lapse between series rather than between videos, so now I'm taking a few weeks to prepare everything I can before we start on each individual video. That way the videos within a given series come out much closer together and give the show a sort of "seasonal" feeling.

That is, like... seasonal as in television seasons, not winter and summer and all.

What's next?

After we get over the hurdle of the first episode, most of the Pratchett series should come out fairly quick.

Now the order of the day is to begin my research on the SCP Foundation in earnest so that, in while, when we begin our SCP series, I'll be well and ready for it far ahead of the game.

There are also going to be a few fun additions to each series that I haven't yet announced, beginning with the Pratchett series. Keep your eyes peeled!

Overall, it's been an interesting transition into the new pipelines. Lots of adjusting and re-calibrating as we began, but it finally feels like we're at a gallop, and this should more or less carry through the next series.

Over the course of the year, Felipe, Nova and I are slowly going to get better at following the pipeline. That, and we'll develop more realistic expectations for how long each part of the process ought to take, which will also make me a lot better at predicting release dates.

Better as in I'll be able to. So far I don't think I've ever accurately guessed when I'd be posting a video to date.

As always, thank you all for making this thing possible and being so patient with these long, looong production cycles. 2018 was incredibly rough, but in 2019 the wound has already begun to mend.

Be well, helpful humans. I'll see you in some of this week's later posts!
