Progress Update: If I had my mind for long enough...

Hello, Tale Foundry maintenance cr—*cough hack sputter gag*

...

Alright, so there's not much to report in terms of progress at the moment, as I'm still dirty sick. I've been running a fever since Thursday evening last week, and today's the first time I've really been out of bed since.

Things have actually gotten quite a bit worse, but it was this turn that drove me toward what looks like will be the solution.

Let me elaborate...

Where are we now?

To begin, I can tell you where I last left off in the video production pipeline before I took ill. By Thursday, I had half a script completely finished and about two days slotted out to finish another script and a half.

That was when I started to feel a bit strange.

At first I thought the drink I'd ordered from Starbucks was doing things to me. But then, how nefarious can a green tea latte truly be? As the fatigue and dizziness set in, and then as they intensified, I began to wonder if I wasn't experiencing caffeine withdrawal. I'm not crazy about coffee, but when you make Starbucks your office, it just becomes collateral damage.

In retrospect, caffeine withdrawal was kind of a ridiculous guess, given the aforementioned latte. But I digress.

It wasn't until 2am on Friday that the fever hit. At this point I stopped guessing and had to accept that I was sick, and was very likely going to be for a good long while to come.

Fast forward.

I've been on a drug called "Tamiflu" since Friday evening, which... I mean, I suppose it must be doing something useful, right? Otherwise why would it be so terribly expensive? I've also been on Sudafed and switching off between ibuprofen and acetaminophen, those last two being key to my survival during this period of heat and chills and ungodly, confusing combinations of the two.

I thought I was on the mend when I managed to go about six whole hours without a fever on Sunday, but on Monday it all returned, with a vengeance. Difficulty breathing throughout the morning lead me in to a clinic, where they diagnosed me with pneumonia and set me up with yet more drugs.

These, however, are having a far more tangible effect already. I can cough without pain, and I've kept my fever down for the last 5 hours.

So let's see whether I'm on the actual mend now, shall we?

Hopefully there's no bouncing back and developing additional layers of illness.

I can't wait to get back to work...

What's next?

It should be a pretty straight shot to creation of the Pratchett series once I'm back in working order. Seeing as I'm well enough to write this on a lark right now, perhaps I'll have my mind long enough tomorrow to get back into script-writing, even if I'm doing it from bed?

Who knows!

The thing I'm most distraught about with all of this, though?

We might not make the April 1st deadline for the first Terry Pratchett episode, which would have been perfect.

TL;DR, still sick! Started with the flu, but got pneumonia. Still, prospects for my recovery are looking good! 'Till then, I'm still mostly out of commission.

Thanks for your patience and well-wishes, everybody. <3
