Progress Update: Weaving Strands of Vapor
Added 2019-02-25 23:58:40 +0000 UTCG'monday, foundry maintenance crew!
Things are chugging along. It's been a bit of a slog getting back into the rhythm of work after Vidcon London, but at last, here we are, trudging ever onward to our glorious destiny.
It may not sound like a lot's happened since the last progress update, but anyone who was there for yesterday's Forge session can probably tell you, that's largely because a lot of this is a cloudy, highly-abstract mess that really boils down to the a lot of brow-furrowing and repetition; threading ideas and articulations together like weaving strands of vapor...
But progress is progress!
Let's talk about it.
Where are we now?
Just about done with the final outlines for these videos, which has been a feat unto itself. They've changed fundamentally from iteration to iteration, to the point where I've dropped entire sections that I originally thought would be integral to making the video work. Such great sorrow putting all that stuff on the side, but that's the way it goes. You never quite get used it, though.
I think the scripts will be much easier to write than the outlines have been to put together, in part because this stuff is more fun to talk about that it is to figure out. Once I have the words for it, it's a joy to gab about it.
I'm expecting to be entirely done with the episode/list scripts by the end of the week, which is extremely exciting.
But that not all!
What's next?
Pipelines. Pipelines, and more art than we've ever had before.
A portion of my time this week is going to be dedicated to figuring out timeframes and workloads so that Felipe can reasonably predict what he'll be doing from series to series. This isn't very exciting on the front end, but the result of it will be.
So y'all get yourselves hyped for a far steadier flow of original TF art made by our outstanding Felipe.
Anything else?
MERCH.
Temporary, series-specific (and evergreen) merch is going to be coming to our merch store in the very near future! We've had big plans for this for a while now, and I'm stoked to finally have the opportunity to make it happen.
I hope you guys like enamel pins...

That's it for this week! I wish there was more I could show you, but this tends to be one of the most reserved, outwardly boring parts of the process. Fun for my brain, but hard to share with all of you.
Expect something a little more fabulous next week.
'Till then, all my love. ❤️
