Progress Update: Starting the Story

Hello, helpful humans! How you're all enjoying  the spookiest day of the year~

As for me, I got all my creepy jubilations out of the way last weekend. Now I'm just excited to be getting back to work.

It's been a little while now since I've just been able to buckle down and work hard on making my art. But as of today, that changes. I'm finally going to be in position to get that video production cycle turning again, and I am stoked about it. Especially because this one involves writing a dang short story, which is something I only get to do on rare occasion these days (despite the fact that we dedicate a whole video to it every series...).

That's not all, either. Interesting things are happening here for sure.

Where are we now?

In a good place, that's where.

On Friday we had a long, glorious think tank session with our patreon engineers, where we went over a bunch of awesome possible routes to take for this forthcoming short story. I won't reveal what the story is going to be here and now, but if you're a patron you can check out some of the deets in our last sneak peek video. It's going to be fucking cool, I can say that much.

On another positive note, I finally have the absolute complete final ultimate iteration of the bookmark design! I've been teasing you guys with this forever, but it's here, and it's better than I could have ever hoped. Big thanks to Chris Moschler for being so cooperative during the long design process. The only thing left to do before I send the design off to the printer is decide on a color scheme. You can actually give me your opinion here if you want, which would be super helpful! 

What's next?

Lots of sneak peeks where I talk about the difficulties of realizing a secondary world setting whilst introducing stakes, character motivations, and realizing a complete plot arc in under 7,000 words, I'd guess! Frankly, I'm kinda looking forward to it.

We'll also be starting up the new style of think tank soon! I'll make a post about that in particular and maybe add something about it to the schedule. I think it's gonna be an amaaaaazing time~ No more floundering for material at the last possible minute!

So that's about where we stand and what we're looking forward to right now. It's going to be some kind of sweet catharsis to finally write a short story again, phew.
