Progress Update: Bumpy Road
Added 2018-09-12 01:27:04 +0000 UTC
Fellow humans, excuse the mixed vibe of the following update. The week is off to a somewhat rocky start.
It's really tempting to say things like "life happens" and "life gets in the way", but that's not terribly healthy, is it? Life is always going to happen. It should. You should expect and invite that. It's just difficult to accept when your expectations don't line up with it sometimes. In this case, due to a lot of nonsense we weren't expecting, it's been difficult to do the amount of work we would have liked over the last few days.
Nevertheless, things are moving. It's important we keep our eyes forward and our hands on the wheel.
So, let's talk about what we have been able to do...
Where are we?
Problems
Scattered on a nearby overpass, there lie the rubber remnants of Chloe's front right car tire. Neither of us noticed her tires were near bald and one of them finally gave up the ghost yesterday. We spent maybe 4-5 hours solving this yesterday (the wheel was pretty solidly fused to the rotor and needed a brisk thump with a wood block, then the car wouldn't start, and now we've found a bunch of severed wiring hanging out from beneath that's causing all kinds of CPU issues for the vehicle). Chloe's still handling the fallout, and I've been able to do a horrifically small amount of work since.

On top of this, our living situation is in terrible flux at the moment. We're in a bit of a dispute with the owners about whether we'll be allowed to stay. There's been a lot of driving back and forth and couch surfing and general inconvenience. It's not been an altogether lovely time.
Progress
All problems aside, I'm back in the saddle now. I finally have some time back in my schedule to create the dang video, and I can't tell you what a relief it is to be sitting in a Starbuck's right now typing this out.
There's still a lot left to do before we can release this thing, but we are a good amount of the way through. We have the complete script and the complete raw audio file, I've wrangled together most of the visual assets we'll need, and Chloe's well into the audio editing (if struggling to find time between disasters and her day job).
It shouldn't be long now at all, but things've been rough to say the least.
What's next?
This time? Just lots of hard, hard work. We have a lot of lost time to make up for right now. We can make it, we'll just need to go pretty hard for a few days.
Anything else?
I just want to express our gratitude to you guys. Things have been rocky and slow and inconsistent this year, but you've been here through all of it. Thank you for believing in this thing we're creating. Thanks for creating it with us~
For now (and as always), there's a video to make. I shall away and, as they say, "get on dat".
Seeya!
