Progress Update: Season of Change

Things have happened. It's been a pretty big couple of months for us, and we're racing to keep up.

But not today, because today is my birthday. Benefit of being self-employed is that you get to pick your own holidays, and I think birthdays are a pretty worthy choice. So, after recording tomorrow's sneak peek and making this post, today is gonna be all about sushi, magic the gathering, movies, and relaxation. The daily races will commence again tomorrow.

I do have some spicy stuff to share with y'all about our progress on the Worldbuilding video series, though...

Where are we?

You'll see a bit more about this in tomorrow's sneak peek, but I've just barely finished the script outlining phase of the pre-production cycle. Usually they come out a lot faster than this, but the Slavic folklore video was gigantic, and this one is just very complex. There was a lot of stuff I had to spend hours just sitting and thinking about. Once I had everything down pat, figuring out how I'd convey this stuff was a separate nightmare entirely.

Suffice to say, I'm glad to be done with outlining. And that, I think, was the real hard part of this pre-production cycle. Now that I have all the real abstract stuff more or less modeled, I just have to write it out and make it sound nice. Two days, tops, I'm thinking.

I also wanna have a quick word about the Forging Worlds competition were running with World Anvil. This thing... is monumental. It might not be the biggest competition ever run on the entirety of the internet, but I've never seen an outpouring of creativity like this. Have a look at the stats page to see just how many people are participating, and then click through their names to see their entries. There's some truly inspired stuff in there, and Chloe and I are loving every minute of exploration through it. It's quite a challenge not to look at these things too hard right now, because we don't want to get attached to any of them and develop biases if they make it to the top cut. 

We are practically trembling with excitement to have a look at the winning entries in a few weeks. I can't wait to see whose world I'm going to be writing in~

What's Next?

Well, we're almost into the production cycle for this list video, so we'll definitely keep you guys updated on that, and we'll for sure be feeding you guys sneak peeks about it. We've also got a lot going on here on Patreon, particularly in terms of rewards management. We're still finalizing some of our templating and processes for sending out these rewards, but we expect to be doing it quite soon. Very likely, we'll be showcasing the cool stuff our patrons are unlocking as we go forward. 

We're also starting to plan what products will go into our merch store with DFTBA. The store itself is already up at this point—we've just gotta get some designs together for them. At the behest of our communities across all platforms, it looks like we'll be starting with keychains and bookmarks.

Anything Else?

Not at the moment! I'm just eager to go cram some sushi down my gullet, so excuse my brevity.
