Daily Update: Blossoming

Things are interesting right now.
Despite the fact that we’re in a financial down-period with the show and the brand in general, things are also kind of coalescing in an interesting way. This has a lot to do with our correspondence with the World Anvil team, who’ve helped us figure things out about owning a brand with a community.
First, Chloe and I are introverts. That’s the truth. We both have strange histories with social interaction and a fairly poor grasp on how they work. It’s not innate to either of us. So we’re kind of learning as we go, and opening up petal by petal. As most of you know, we’ve recently begun doing audio think tank sessions instead of just text. That’s a big step for us, but not even the biggest we’ve taken yet. We’ve also taken a lesson from how the World Anvil discord server runs and started to have weekly voice chats with our moderators and coordinators. We just got out of one maybe 30 minutes ago, in fact.
So although the show isn’t necessarily skyrocketing toward success at the moment, it still feels like things are getting better. Ironically, I feel more and more like a human all the time. A lot of that has to do with our friendships with other creators, but the majority comes from the willingness and eagerness of the lovely humans who support us—both financially and through their willingness to help out with things like moderation and community management—to engage and interact.
After a long life of relatively stoic behavior, I’m beginning to… integrate, I guess. And I’m glad to be learning it from you lovely humans.
