Howdy, patrons!

Episode 3 of Swiftie's Intergalactic will be posted next Tuesday, July 25th. Thank you so much for your patience and encouragement during this delay. I'm really excited to be writing again, and I sincerely hope the measures I've taken to be more consistent last a little longer this time. Hopefully the next episode will be a fun little diversion!

It's been quite a busy July. Thankfully, the COVID infection wasn't severe, but it did take me off my stride for a good week. I was only really sick for two days, but brain fog and shortness of breath lingered for a while longer. Once I started to feel better, the 2023 job search kicked into a higher gear and took a good deal of my concentration.

On Monday I'll be starting a new day job -- though I'll likely quit that job if I get either one of two offers from different places. One is a decent job at a place I've always wanted to work for; it's only for a year, but it gets my foot in the door for a permanent position later. I've finished the final round of interviews there and should have their decision by next week at the latest. The other prospect is a decently-paying permanent job at an established tech company. My first interview for that is scheduled later this week.

So, in addition to doing on-boarding work for the job I've accepted, I've also been interviewing and trying to strengthen my professional network, such as it is. I'll also admit to getting sucked into both Final Fantasy XIV and Baldur's Gate 3 for just a little bit. Add it all up and you get a couple weeks going by in the blink of an eye.

I'm back on track now, though. With the end of the current serial in sight, it's time to think about which story comes next. And, since you've all been so patient and supportive, I'd love to do something for you folks as a way of saying thanks.
